Have you considered a used WRX? Extremely reliable fun cars. Not as fast as the mustang obviously but you can probably get a much cheaper payment.

I appreciate all the responses. At this time, I haven't decided nor picked anything to go with. I'm still sitting, thinking. Deep down, I really love my Mustang. It's gorgeous.

Sounds like buyers remorse to me. Couldn't have made more than a few payments already. Like others have said you will get killed on the trade.

Interior is an easy fix. I went base as well. Picked up some leather takeoffs on eBay for about $400. Pretty easy install took me about two hours in the garage. Also added AM light kit so it's got that premium feel.

The whole reason I went base was I could use that $4k for mods and look way meaner than any stock mustang regardless of trim. I think I've succeeded thus far. Definitely get looks everywhere I go. Get some lowering springs, exhaust, and spacers and call it a day.

:confused:Interesting bit of advice. Spend a couple grand more on mods. When it's pretty clear. The car is already a financial burden.

lol people saying the EB gas won't vary. That doesn't make any sense at all. My EB gets around 21-22 mpg all city. My friends with a GT will be lucky if they get 15 mpg. If you stay in boost alot, you can get away with 20 compared to driving like a grandma in the GT.

There is a difference besides what people say on here who haven't driven the EB or experienced gas mileage. You just have to see if it's worth it to you. You probably won't lose much on the trade if you're not upside down and the price of your base GT is around what you can get for a used premium EB

I just started looking at them. Definitely keeping them in mind.

I've mentioned a few times my absolute love for the car. I don't regret buying it, because it is unique. I have a few issues, some involving the car itself and the overall situation.

Not to mention, as my soon to be wife always points out, "You can never be happy with one car." This is absolutely true. But then again, I come from a family who swaps out cars pretty much yearly.

I honestly don't understand what you want/trying to do? Trading in every year is not a good idea if you are hasseled by the GT.....

The entire subject was brought out of curiosity, more than anything else. I'm a car person first, Mustang person second. I just absolutely love, and adore cars...I think they all scratch a particular itch, with none of them fully getting the right spot. If that makes any sense.

I posted on here, sure, expecting some flak, but perhaps a mutual understanding. Again, some are more aligned to the brand, to the Mustang name, than being a car person. For that, I'm completely okay with. Is there anything wrong with my car? No. Can I afford it? Yes...but the overall purpose was to ask a question, to garner responses and go from there.

So what are you asking then? "Should I trade in my car because my car is ridiculously expensive, between gas, payments and insurance"? Or is it just a justification thread to justify the costs and the interior? I'm just trying to understand the question because it is extremely vague.

Just my opinion here, but I dont consider the EB a downgrade to the GT. The only place it is inferior is horsepower. I could care less about the exhaust note so many guys seem to think is important. It's still a Mustang, it still makes over 300hp (more than a GT did not all that long ago), it handles great, it looks great, and it gets really good gas mileage considering the power.
I looked at a PP GT before I bought my EB. The GT had standard interior which I didnt really care for (the dealer was going to install leather seats but it was added coin), the power didnt offset the hit in gas mileage since it was going to be my daily driver, and more importantly, the dealer came down a little on price then wouldnt budge.
I do agree though that if you trade in this soon you will take a beating on your current car and whatever you may potentially save in the long run will get negated at the salesman's desk.
Only you know what will make you happy, but I definitely wouldnt jump in to anything quickly.

I've had both cars and may actually prefer the EB. Aside from economics, it was more nimble and just felt quicker with that low end torque.

You've made your choice already. Making changes you'll loose even more money.

I'm at the market for a new car and initially wanted V6. So I created an account at the forum and now I'm torn between V6 and V8.

I absolutely understand that V6 is the absolute bang for the buck. But I also test drove the V8, liked it. Is ~1sec 0-60 difference worth ~$10K?

After browsing the forum now i feel like driving V6 I will always experience feeling of not driving V8. And almost like people around will remind me about not driving V8.... although I think that mostly only mustang followers will really know about differences.

Thank you for pointing out the EB brings different attributes to the table in then the GT and is not inferior, just different. Sure it doesn't have the raw power and sound that many seem to enjoy, instead it's lighter, nimbler, better balanced, better range, with differant noises that can also be fun. It's nice that we have two platforms that bring so much good stuff to the table and we can choose what tools we prefer to make each of our driving experiences special.

I really enjoyed the EB that I drove. It was fully loaded. The reason I didn't go with it, wasn't because of the car, but a negative dealer experience.

I've contacted a few different dealers in regards to the Focus ST and the Golf GTI. Morbid curiosity now.
