Highly unlikely as long as the gasoline/ethanol mixture is the same ratio. If you had a hot enough day that the ECU had to retard timing on 87 but not with 93 I suppose there could be a very slight difference. Will the GT mileage vary with 87 vs 93 octane?
I've had to completely change habits of driving... on the highway, I got about 22.5 mpg by the instrument by the time I refueled after several spirited acceleration(pissed off from denial on getting on the freeway) & some city driving... I actually calculated 19.5.... my first two tanks were pretty bad avg 14.mpg... topped off half tank with 93 to 1/4 tank then remaining ones are all 93octane... mpg along with new shifting styles.... ive been getting better mpg.... now I put zmax in my engine oil... since carrol Shelby puts it in all cobras.... hearing it will also improve mpgLooking at the official calculations, I got 14.8 on both of my first two tanks. It's actually creepier than that -- I got 14.778 on both of my first two tanks, with the numbers differentiating after that. Weird.
First tank: 105 miles, 7.105 gallons.
Second tank: 173 miles, 11.706 gallons.
All on 93 octane.
This is with probably 80% of my mileage on highway miles, but 80% of my time in city driving (going 5 miles in city traffic takes as much time as going 50 miles in highway traffic).
Not bad!I just took a back road trip at 60-65 mph in my 3:55 geared standard trans GT and was getting a peak of 27.4. Around town and horsing around I get 18-19.
