I hope my MPG is due to a new motor being broken in. I have 100 "city" miles on the odometer and it's showing an MPG of 9.5

Yeah, I've been getting pretty poor mileage, too. In mixed driving (probably 60-70% freeway), I got 15.7 mpg on my first tank.

Granted, I'm still getting used to a stick, so I'm sure that had a pretty significant effect on things, too.

I do about 85% freeway driving on my 75 mile each way commute in the bay area and average 18.5 MPG in my GT with Perf Pack.

The car could use a much taller 6th gear or a 7 speed transmission, especially when mated with the 3.73's in the perf. pack.

On my first tank, the trip computer computed about 11 mpg. On my second tank, I personally calculated 18. Which is WAY better than I expected.

No. It's all in how you drive with this motor. You can baby it to 25mpg on the highway. You can also get it under 10 with city stoplight races. Follow Ford's shifting guides in the manual and your mpg will greatly improve. It'd be a boring drive, but it would improve fuel consumption.

GT manual here non PP 3.31 gears and 80% city. I am getting 17.5mpg on the computer with about 600 miles on it. I "play" in 2nd and 3rd gear quite often. I definitely do not drive to achieve good mileage.

I've got a GT w/ the Performance Pack in manual - I drive about 60% freeway and 40% city. This what I usually got in the first 1000 miles.

freeway: 21
city: 13-16 (depends on traffic)
tank average: 18

this is totally normal. when I bought my '11 5.0, it got really bad mileage while the engine was breaking in. I believe it started getting good gas mileage after about 1500-2000 miles. went from 10-12mpg to about 21 mpg with mixture of city and highway driving with a few spirited sprints each time I drove it. Just keep driving it and breaking in the engine. Also I burnt about 1- 1.5 quarts of oil when it was breaking in. once I started getting better fuel economy, my car stopped burning oil.

My first two tanks showed lower mpg than the 15 posted for city, but each tank after that, has steadily risen.

After my break-in period was over I took the car on a trip to GA with my highway mileage being 24.8 mpg. (running 92 and 93 Octane)

I have a studio down in GA that I drove to from the hotel when I was there. 3 miles one way. My mileage for that week was just over 3 mpg. That sucked. Guess the car needs to thoroughly warm up before it operates at peak efficiency.

For my daily commute in the DC metro area, my driving is on back roads with stop signs and stop lights. A good mix of both highway (55mph) and city driving (35mph to 40mph). Of course I have learned to keep my foot out of it, which helps tremendously.

I use the app ACar to track my mileage and it says the average MPG is 19.007.

In my 2011 w/ the 5.0, auto and 3.15gears I averaged about 14 mpg. But then I drive like Dan Gurney. I don't expect it to get better when I get my '15.

GT, manual, PP. Averaging about 18.5. Not as good as I had hoped but better than the 14 we get with the Jeep on 37's.

I'm sure I could squeeze out a few more mpg if I drove most. It's the little lady's DD and she never skip shifts or stays light on the pedal.

GT, auto, 3.55 gears.

Back and forth to work I'm 50% highway, 50% city, and I'm averaging 21.5 or so. I don't floor it off of every light, but I don't baby it, either.

I reset Trip 1 when I filled up:

I still have less than 100 miles as well and it's showing my mpg at 9.7 right now.

I'm not especially worried right now though. If by the time I hit 250~300 I'm still under not around 17 mpg I'll see about getting it checked out.

GT Manual with 3.73 gears. I get around 16 MPG with about 400 miles on the clock. All around town miles.
