That's about what my Grand Marquis was getting in London, UK traffic but with gas at $8/gal

But it would get 26 on a motorway run at around 80/90mph.

The rest of you lot appear to be getting what my old e36 BMW gets which is 25/19 Highway/City.

That's only a 2.5l 6 pot with 173bhp though.

I have around 1100 miles on my GT. On a 30 min drive on the highway just after i filled up. Cruise control 70-75 MPH for 45 min, it was 24.4 MPG. most of the time i am in the city with some traffic. In that case i am around 12-15 MPG.
Love that V-8 power!

I won't stress on it too much. After I get past 1000 miles, if I can avg 20 mpg on my daily driving, I will be happy with that.

I did not buy the Mustang for gas mileage!

i was expecting 21-22mpg avg, like my last v8 that made 290hp/325tq (crank) and my 4 banger turbo that made 310/326 to the wheel on premium

that same 4 banger was making 349/366 to the wheel on E85 but was getting 18mpg due to the corn fuel

Are you resetting the MPG readout every time you fill-up? If not, then the longer you go the more it will come to some average number and stay there.
It hasn't been reset since I bought the car "used" with 370 miles on the odometer.

i don't drive like a grandpa either. i shift at 3k min and have constant WOT romps while merging and on entrance/exit ramps.
I'm pretty sure there is something in the owner's manual that requires these driving habits in the new GT.

Here's what a 3:15 auto will do. Round trip from Mn to Fl. Made it back in 2 days. Did not baby it and did have some fun.

I get around 13, by around I mean mid to high 12s in town. I took a 100 mile backroad trip yesterday, with some aggressive passing I still did 25.1. Much better than I expected.

About 450 miles on mine, 65-75% highway, probably half in heavy traffic, driving easy(ish) till I get a few more miles on it. 20-21MPG GT Auto 3.15 gears

Thanks, I have almost the exact same commute setup (50 miles each way, 30min city/30min highway) and I plan to get the GT w/PP so this is probably the closest representative example I've seen of what I'll probably average. I currently get 21-22mpg in my S197 so this makes sense.
after 2,000 miles that is what mines at. I can get 27MPG on long trips at 68MPH. 23.4 when not worrying about speed.

18.4 overall is starting and moving at body shop over 110 days total (free storage)Really it sucks I like it sitting in my car port. I also let my car warm up to 200 on heads before moving. IU found out a long time a go to let the motor and NT-82 warm up and don't shift into 5th or 6th till after 5 miles.
