People are so careless today, I have to put FEAR into them to stop doing what they are doing. After someone tries to lock it up in front of me for no reason or cuts me off, I make sure they know what they did. I'll speed up to get beside them and rev up my loud exhaust and let it pop and crackle. Not the best way to release frustration and make sure they know what they did, but it makes you feel better after the fact.

Before anyone says it... I know... the other person could have a weapon... blah blah blah. I get it.

Sorry it happened like that OP. It sucks, but the car can be repaired as long as you are okay.

Yikes, hopefully your rate does not go up. I also just read the whole thread. The first accident seemed like fun (lol). I do think you made a mistake by accepting to taking a car that had 15k in repairs. I would have fought them on that. The fact that it is a 2015 with most likely a bunch of miles on it, the 15k should have been 50% or more of the value. Does not make sense the insurance company would have wanted to repair it.
Well the original quote from the body shop for the first accident said it was going to be $8k but in the end it ended up being $15k ish... The car was already fixed so i couldn't really do anything. Also the thing is i'm almost done paying it off. I owe $3700 right now. So getting a new car and having to give payments for another 5 years wouldn't be ideal.

And this is the reason I have a dash cam! Pull the footage and call the cops!

Which dash cams do you all recommend? Can they be hardwired?

Most are not hard to run a cord to a fuse box or tap into power somewhere. For continuous recording while parked, a small aux battery just for the dash-cam may be needed.

I can't catch a break...someone hit my parked car.

Was that a hit and run? Parking area where it was hit has no survellience cameras that you can tap owners for footage?

I have the blackvue DR900s. It comes with a kit to hard wire it. The power magic pro comes with it and will monitor your battery so it won't drain your battery to low. Will automatically shut off the camera. I did a lot of research before I bought mine. If your in an accident or get hit in a parking lot, it will lock that file so it doesn't get over written. Not to mention, if you have a hotspot for internet in your car, you can actually track your car, and see where its going, even speak to the person in your car LOL.

Wasn't a hit and run. I got the person's information and their insurance is taking care of everything. I just hate leaving my car at a body shop tho. I dropped it of at a mom and pop shop that had really good reviews. Hopefully they take better care of it than Ellis and Salazar did.

That Sounds like one hell of a dash cam. Definitely putting that on my wish list!

I hadn't seen that on one. I dropped it off on Tuesday at Twomey's Auto Works on South Congress. From their website it looks like they do a lot of work on old muscle cars and high end vehicles. I'll let you know how their work is when i get my car back.

Does the dent in the door look repairable without replacing the door skin? The guy from Progressive just called and said that they were going to replace the fender, repair the door, buff the rim, and paint the rocker panel. Total as of right now is around $2500.
