What happens if he breaks in and steals your dash cam?
Always a chance of that. But then I have that on my ARLO which covers the driveway and street.

Generally it is a pretty safe neighborhood, but jackasses everywhere....

Update: I got the car back after $15k in repairs and taking it back to the body shop 4 times. I swear those guys are just as bad as dealerships. Car seems okay... only issues i'm having is that when i brake the steering wheel turns to the left a bit and when i accelerate hard my car veers to the left. As for the braking issue, i think they might have not bled the brakes correctly and there's still air in the system or perhaps a collapsed brake line. For the other issue i need a better alignment. I'm definitely not taking it back to the body shop though...I rather just pay it out of pocket with a reputable shop.

Honestly, IMHO, the insurance company probably should have totaled the car. With that type of underbody/suspension damage, there's no telling what is bent/out of spec. You will probably always have issues with that car pulling one way or another.

I'm hoping I'm wrong and it's just an alignment issue. Get it aligned and see how it drives.

Yeah, they should've. The body shop told them that it was going to be $8k originally but they "kept finding stuff". I guess just one of their tricks to make more money.

Welcome to Texas my friend. People here are terrible. And you're in the best, least-backward part of the state.

Had $3000 worth of damage done to my Lexus from a typical truck-driving wanna be cowboy who cut me off. Though he did stop, he then lied to the cops so I got to pay $500 for his stupidity since, of course, nobody could be bothered to stop and be a witness.

Now there's a 1080P HD dash cam in every car I own. Fool me once, shame on me. You won't fool me twice.

My experience suggests it's less a "trick" than "Standard Operating Procedure".

Took my Grandson back to my daughter and as I was coming home some guy in a full size
Chevy Tahoe thought he was going to be Mr. Hot Rod and outrun me.
Came down his driveway, shot right out in front of me and floored that sucker.
I just jammed the gas pedal to the floor in the Mustang and blew him away. We were probably
doing 120+ when I cut back in front of him.

I've tried to avoid this situation with this car.
When I had the Camaro, it was worse.

But, lets get real. If your going to race a Mustang GT, get something with some horsepower.............

This thread is hilarious. Sucks for the OP and his car, but all the other people talking about “revving my loud exhaust to let them know what they did” and “dude wanted to race my Mustang in his Tahoe, so I passed him going 120”...you need to let it go. If no one got hurt, and your property wasn’t damaged, just let it go. Get a dash cam and drive like all the other cars on the road are out to get you. Leave space, make room, stuff like that. It’s funny, in Germany everyone drives aggressively, but when you need to pull out into traffic or merge onto a highway, there is almost always space. People make room, because they expect the same of other drivers. It’s simple and I wish we could do that better in America.

I don't typically get road rage but sometimes it is just hard not to no matter how much anyone says. After getting pulled out in front off 2-3 times daily and cut off 1-2 times a weeks it just gets annoying. I actually had an EB pull out in front of me the other night. Okay this guy is going to go. Nope, I had to break hard in turns because they were scared to drive and they were going 15 under the entire way. For all the talk on the forum about how the EB is the better car and should dust me in that DD scenario is even more annoying because it didn't happen. I did have a smart car trying to wreck me one time as well lol

Is it just the bumper or are body panels involved? That estimate sounds really high. Glad you’re OK though.

Ouch. I see, experience stupid and get cut off almost every day. I drive extremely defensively, people pass me going way over the speed limit almost daily- I see them cut in front of other drivers, almost creating an accident. I do not put put- I drive at or 5-10 MPH over the speed limit as it is. But I never tail gate and always maintain 1-2 car lengths behind someone. I slow down when I see red lights- my foot is off the gas. I keep right except to pass. Most people accelerate around me driving like 60 MP MPH right up to the light, then slam on their brakes. I had a Harley motorcycle a few years. In order to get a motorcycle license I had to take the defensive driving class- class room and on a track. It was an eye opener. It made me a better driver as I drive my car like it is a motorcycle- watching and looking every second, never, ever text and never even talk on the phone while I am driving. If it's urgent I pull over. I may not be able to avoid an accident some day if I am broad sided or rear ended but my driving style sure helps me avoid a lot of them at the moment.
