you probably should consult a LL attorney. Maybe you can google one for your state and try to find one that will respond to a question online.

And with a major engine repair, there is a chance the car will need to go back into the shop for something. By the sounds of that dealer, even a trivial repair will take another week.

Dealer just called. Today is day 30 they have had the car and they said it is ready. I told them I would have to talk to Ford and the BBB before I would say if I would pick it up or not.
Did they do the short block replacement or a complete new engine replacement?

Can anyone tell me if fr3z-6009-b is just the block or the short block? Shortblock would have pistons rods and crank.

call and ask the dealer what was replaced. Or go to dealership and inspect the car. Either they fixed it or they didn't. If you are not sure, you still are covered by LL for another six months or so.

How much is storage?

The spirit of LL is probably when the dealership cannot fix your car within 30 days. Where its either sitting at the dealership pending a repair or they return it to you and its still broken. If you car got a new short block, and its awaiting customer pickup, and you then attempt to file a LL, that seems a little fuzzy.

I didnt come here to get in a pissing contest with you. But for your information I have tried to get three things fixed on the car
1. rear end vibration. They have not fixed it
2. drivers window hangs. they have not fixed it
3. engine knock. Tehy may have fixed it. the diagnosis, only after I threatened to take the video of their tech driving my car 100MPH to the news was that clinger 4 had pitting and cylinder 2 had marks consistent with piston slap.

The car has been out of service for 44 days of about 110 I have owned it. there are still issues with a brand new car and I filed the LL BEFORE the engine was "repaired" . I filed 12/2/2016.

I glossed over that you had already filed. It will be interesting to see how the video factors into the case.

I had the same exact issue you are going through at 10k miles. I had the same noise you are experiencing. After the dealer attempted a lot of tests and to no luck they said they cant find a issue. I told them to check the crankshaft as that's where the noise is coming from that area. They proceeded to open it up and found out the crank shaft had double the clearance. its supposed to be .004 I believe and mine had .007, not only that 2 of the cylinder walls had scratches on there. It was a matter of time until my motor went bad. They ended up giving me a new shortblock - preassembled with crankshaft and pistons.

Disturbing, to say the least. You'll have to go through the process on this motor again with Ford--I'd think--to get it sorted out, but at this point my confidence with the dealer/Ford would be shot.

As a B/U plan, think about contacting an Indy shop that is knowledgeable about the 5.0 motor to get a second opinion on what is going on with the new motor. My gut tells me after replacing your original motor with a short block, they might be inclined to buck you on any fix to the new motor.

The ticking is not normal at all. They need to replace that motor or buy the car back.

replacing the shortblock is replacign the block and entire lower end. Now its time for a buyback IMHO

Correct mine had a head issue as well. I agree with you though I'd go for a buyback. It's such a shame. Ford has made such an amazing design on the car and the motor itself is a great motor but they lack quality control so bad!

can you tell where the noise is coming from? Maybe its coming from parts that got transferred to the new short block. Were you not able to detect that when you picked up the car? That would have been the best time.
