getting IATs down on a centri

Is it pulling timing based on the IAT table or is it picking up knock? It should not pull that much timing unless you are seeing IATs over 150.

140 it goes from 20 degrees to 19; 150 it gets to 18 and continues to ramp to down to about 15-16 and the IATs slow down on one run; the hottest run was similar timing ramp but it gets to 160 (the timing stops around 15-16 on this run).

Stupid question what parameter to look at for knock?

Knock retard went to -4.8 at the end of a hot run; however I looked at a log on a dyno run knock retard was -5 and timing at 21 at similar rpms (7k ish)

So KR was adding timing not taking no away.

Yep looked through a few logs, always negative and timing pulled when IATs go up.

Correct. Two different tables. IAT will override any advances in spark advance.

Override or supplement? I believe supplement. E.g. IAT contribution occurs regardless of the knock retard/advance contribution at the time, I think.

Were your fans tuned to match the lower thermostat. If your thermostat opens at 170 but your fans don’t come on till 210 it doesn’t really do any good.
