So, I've got jacking rails on the "I want" list. But it's approaching time to rotate the tires and I don't have the cash to buy the rails right now.
I'm thinking I'll get an aluminum puck in the mean time. I've got 2 other vehicles it would work for as well so it makes sense.
To my mind, the one big advantage of the rails is to raise front and rear from 1 jack point.
My question is, can I lift the same way, both wheels - one jack point, using a puck that protects the pinch weld or should I use the separate front and rear jack points?

It's an '18 convertible if that matters.

Do you have directional tires? (my Firestone Firehawks are) they can only be rotated from front to back on same side, jacking in the middle of a jack rail is perfect for that.

Also the pinch welds are by the tires not in the middle of the frame.

Buy two of these. They are AWESOME. I didn’t feel like adding 30lbs of weight with jacking rails.

For the best low-cost jacking solution on the pinch-welds for the Mustang, just use a 12" 2 x 4 with the floor jack.
The 12" of wood will actually spread the weight load along the pinch weld and does a great job.
The jack point for the Mustang S550 (to jack the entire side up) is a point approx. 3" to the rear of where the rear-view mirrors are.
I jacked up my mustangs for 30 years with the wood, and never bent any pinch-welds doing it this way.
I now use the jacking rails because I also use the rails for jack stands
To see how I lengthened my jacking rails for the jack stands to be placed farther apart SEE-->

Notching a couple of hockey pucks is also a low cost solution.

OP is asking if you can lift the entire side at one time by using the pinch welds. Is there a way to do this?

Yes you can. I do it when rotating. Just find the spot slightly back of the rear view mirror. Works great. And the 2x4 idea is what I use.

i like low cost solutions but bmr cjr002's only weigh 13.76lbs, work great, and seem to stiffen the car

Unpossible, connecting the sub-frames will stiffen the car, maybe not to a great degree, BUT.

Maybe if you used the car like a Jeep and went rock crawling. They aren’t connecting any subframes technically either. You’d need cross braces to actually stop any torsion twist across the floor pans.

So the bolts that I use to bolt the 'Jacking Rail' to the car are not the bolts holding the sub-frame to the Unibody? interesting.

Thank you.
I like the 2x4 idea, simple and no cost. Should take less than 2 minutes to set up the table saw.
