I took the car to the shop today to have the motor looked at and a new shortblock installed. When I am done the car should be rock solid. I will list what all is being done to the car: Whipple stage 2 kit, 3.5 pulley, ID1050x injectors, Fore return style fuel system to run e85, New Ford Gen 2 shortblock, ARP head studs, Cosmic Head Gaskets, Built 6R80 with exedy clutches and TCS intermediate shaft, DSS Aluminum one piece driveshaft, DSS 2000hp half-shafts, BMR cradle lockouts, BMR Vertical links, and VMS drag pack wheels MT ET Street R's

The Factory supercharded Z06 has a 10:1 Compression. Not a lot of difference.

I have an 18 GT PP1 and plan on going forced induction, However like others have stated, i plan to have enough money to cover a new short block or repair.

I hate to say it but at coyote compression ratio and boost anything being off can lead to failure. The highest compression ratio any oem runs with boost is 11/1 in the bmw b58 and they only run I believe 7 psi and gdi. With pfi I don’t think any oem runs over 9.5/1 compression. They run conservative on compression and boost in case anything isn’t quite right the engine will survive. I do believe any boosted coyote on pump gas is one minor mishap away from broken parts.

The LT4 is GDI, no? GDI can run 1-2 full compression numbers higher than PFI. 10/1 GDI is worlds safer than 11/1 PFI when boosted.

Very smart. I cringe when people post that they are taking out loans to supercharge a financed vehicle.

Congrats ... but if you are spending all that money on parts /labor why not a little bit more on stronger SB.
Piston/Rod combos can be had for $1500
Another $700 to assemble so if you can reuse your block and crank another $2500.

Stay with Whipple tune, add a little Boostane to pump gas and make sure to put some heat in the motor before you beat the hell out of it and you will be just fine.
Just curious how much Boostane do you use, prem or prof, and at every fill up?

I have a 2017 Gen5 Stg2 and am now on Boostane with the garbage CA gas. But anyway no probs or complaints yet (tho only 1k miles boosted)

If I was going to spend anymore money on the block I would have it sleeved. But the sb that is going in is plenty strong enough for 850whp on the street.

I mix 1oz of Boostane per gallon of 92 octane pump gas only when I know car is going under boost.
I made a tool so I can empty fuel from the gas tank in just a few minutes.I always know the quality of fuel in my fun car just to be safe.

Professional I assume. I’m doing that too now. My biggest fear is a tank of bad gas...I’ll put in enough to make 87 91 (though I’ll only pump 91) and hope the Whipple tune takes care of me otherwise. Which it will unless there’s a manufacturing flaw from Ford...FI will fish those out and exploit them quickly.

Another precaution (does everyone do this?) is I have an nGauge with the warning lights in red set to positive KR, so can get out of the throttle pronto if they light when I go WOT.

True ... but you know how “I will be happy wirh 850 whp “ goes . Lol
At least you are switching to E85 so less risk of same thing happening again .

I have my Ngauge set up the same way. Also I have been using the Boostane shots. Found them on Amazon for $8.50. says it will raise octane 2 full points. So far so good with negative knock.

Yeah I totally agree, but this car is my DD. Once it becomes a track/roll race car then I will pull the motor again and build it to hold 1500hp and turbo it. I honestly just don't have the money to do that right now.

I have a 2018 with an whipple stage 2 and I also cracked my piston cylinder number 4. After everything was said in done it was because of detonation according to my engine builder. I used boostane so I was confused. I did get my shortblock rebuilt with new Manley pistons and rods with arp studs. Car runs great but now I run e85 to be safe against detonation. We will see how long that lasts

I assume the block liner was in good shape and you did not need to sleeve it ?
