Just wanted to share the components, now that they are all complete and in my hands.

We will be covering the install in Race Pages Magazine, so keep an eye out!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

EDIT! Adding the photos from the Race Pages Article that I forgot to add ;)

$5000. Can a strange, Mark Williams or moser pig fit? Does this fit into the stock ford cradle? The Watson requires their own cradle and inboard brakes. Added or reduced weight? It will take slightly more power to turn the 9" over the 8.8". But the gear choices are always way endless with the 9" I assume you're going with a aluminum center section? The front pinion support bracket and the 3rd member housing look pretty simple and straightforward. Courious do they offer the 3rd member housing with cooler hook-ups?

Post updated with photos from the magazine article.

I have put about 7000-8000 miles on this kit and it has been flawless!

Hope to push it into the 7's or damn close with the new combo this year. ;)

Just out of curiosity, does this setup resolve pinion angle/vibration and gear whine issues?

I like to disassemble things.
Kelly, I'm extremely impressed. First, you've done a fantastic job at BMR and brought major improvement across product lines. You and the company have definitely moved up the ladder quite a bit. Second, I moved on from the S197 not long after you and have watched you tackle the S550 without reservation. Build-ups like this, ones that are chock full of hardware, are ones everyone wants to do.

I wanna see if you can break this thing! Because I don't think you can.:)

Thank you for the kind words sir! Let's see if I can break some stuff! Finally starting to get motivated for the new combo.

I have not seen a broken manual trans housing yet.

Maybe someone has, but I haven't seen it!

I swapped to the iron housing, but then dealt with diff issues. This 9" set-up fixed all of my issues, I couldn't be happier with it.

I'm curious what diff issues you were experiencing?

Excessive tolerance shift in the set-up. Burned clutches. Burned up fluids. Stock diff housing deflecting too much, etc.

It got to where I had to repair the diff after almost every track visit.

Just wanted to update this.

I put almost 8,000 miles on this set-up and a ton of track passes, high speed runs, etc.

During my inspection recently I discovered the inner and outer stub hardware had all shifted a little in the loosening direction. I removed one bolt at a time, cleaned the bolts with the threads on the stubs, applied '271' Loc-tite and re-torqued the bolts to 75ftlbs.

75ftlbs is far more than I have ever torqued M10 fasteners, but the engineers at GForce ensured this was the ticket.

I also used a white paint pen to mark every bolt.

Something else that I decided to address is the seepage from the housing. After a lot of street driving, the seepage of gear oil and road debri can have your high priced investment looking a little nasty.

I acquired some 3/8" trans cooler line, a 3/8" barb bulkhead, and an inline filter. I drilled and tapped the fill cap (1/2" NPT) and hooked it all up. This 3/8"line should help quite a bit, as the standard kit has you use the factory vent line which is very small.

Curious, what is the total weight difference over stock?
