Check for exhaust leaks. The catalytic converter smell sure makes sense, as it's the same smell like when your driving behind someone in a newer performance car that just did a full throttle blast.
The part I don't understand is why that catalytic odor is coming into the interior and not just out the back of the exhaust
Doubt it. The thought had crossed my mind, but then I remembered how many chambers and membranes were in that thing. Sounds passes through it, nothing else.I wonder if anyone who notices this still has the sound tube installed? Maybe that allows extra fumes to permeate into the cabin?
Is this smell kind of like burnt plastic/rubber almost?
I have Corsa Extreme cat backs and so does my son. Fitment is excellent and quality is awesome. We installed them on jack stands. You will be very happy with Corsa..I'm changing the FRPP sport to the Corsa extreme catback anyway, so we'll see very soon if the full throttle smell continues
My dad got ford to buy back his exploder because of this. He turned around and got an f150 ecoboost...Latest generation of Ford Explorers does the same thing.
Lots of owners freaking out on the forums, NTSB investigation.
