For me it's been Castrol EDGE Extended Performance in 5W-30 and 1 bottle of Ceratec. So far so good.

BUT - I had a little interesting situation. I change the oil in my Mustang and prior to my wife getting a new RDX, the oil in her Murano. Welp at some point, in my drain pan I found this O-Ring. Maybe an 1 1/4 in diameter. But it was AFTER I had done an oil change (can't remember which vehicle). So everything worked, no leaks or lights coming on in either vehicle. So of course I put the O-Ring in a box on the shelf and there it sits for a couple changes in my Mustang, but this time, I remembered it, and when I had my filter off in the Mustang, I feel this "ditch" that feels like a place where an O-Ring would go just outside of where the male threads come out of the car where the oil filter goes. So I take this O-Ring and it's larger than the threaded piece so it's easy to slide over it and lo and behold it fits PERFECTLY in that ditch. I mean like it was MEANT to go there. Assuming that was it, and a little concerned I'd gone a 15K miles without it, I finish up and all seems good to go. No leaks, no lights, Oil Pressure at 19 psi once it settles into an idle and runs fine.

Still feeling a little uneasy, I call the Ford dealer and go to Service, then Parts Dept. who then talked to a tech. They sent me some pictures which shows the ditch, but zero call outs for an O-Ring... So... oh shiznit!!! I made sure that it was just a recessed area and that no fluid flow goes into or out of that ditch area and the answer was no and that it was "probably" good if I wasn't getting any leaks or lights and everything was running fine. So embarrassingly I come to you fine folks here.

A) Are they wrong and there is an O-Ring that goes in there?

B) Would you be so concerned that you would dump 10 quarts of oil, pull off the filter, dig out the O-Ring? Or just call it good as sealed is sealed on the outside, no disruption of oil flow and just pull it out next oil change?

Mobil 1, 5W-30 with one bottle Ceratec. May be switching to Penzoil Ultra next time after reading all the positives lately.
My shop put Amsoil in mine but after watching the oil geek on. Youtube and reading the Penzoil Ultra is better

I've been using Amsoil Signature 5w30 with Ceratec every other oil change and it's been great. No tick and smooth. 41k on the clock

Unless you are pushing your car to the edge or you are taking oil changes to max miles, any oil that meets ford spec will work fine, save your money for upgrades, brand doesn't matter as much as just doing maintenace, fresh out of spec oil is better than severly used spec oil, I have never witnessed an engine die from using the wrong oil, I use T6 5w40 in all my liquid cooled engines because I get it for a good price and I'm lazy.
