Was gifted this setup from a friend that never did the install on their car before selling it and debating if I wanna resell it or just put it in. Not really looking at a new shifter but the parts were free so....

Anyone have this setup? Not really expecting worlds of difference, but is it noticeably better than stock?

Steeda transmission bushing and shifter bushing does not cure high rpm shift lockout. The transmission bushing seems like a good idea, but the shifter bushing did very little. I am still running the transmission bushing, but with a Blowfish shifter bracket.

I assume these are the Steeda parts:

https://www.steeda.com/steeda-s550-mustang-shifter-base-bushing-bracket-kit-2015-all-555-7092.html

I ran the FP shifter on my 2017 GT and also used the above bushings. I thought the shifter and trans bushings were great, but I installed both at the same time. I had no issues with either.

The transmission bushing on the other hand was horrible, added so much drivetrain noise. I only ran it for about 100 miles, it was that bad. Not sure if there were really any improvement to be had with it since I ran it for such a short time, but nothing would have been worth the noise increase. Removed it and threw it in the trash and never regretted it.

I now run a Barton in my 2020 GT. I do feel it is a little better then the FP shifter and Steeda bracket I had in my 2017, but if I got the FP shifter and bracket for free, I would be perfectly happy running those. I say install them.

Just removed FP shifter and Steeda bushing 2 weeks ago. They were in the car when I bought in 18. Still had some 3rd gear lock out. I still have the bushing in the cross member mount. Installed a Barton trans mounted. Still getting use to crispness of it.
