FWIW, I've had no issues after turning AdvanceTrac fully off in many runs of autocross. The car is honestly easier to control with everything off, too. I did, however, experience the Service AdvanceTrac warning on my very first run with the car with it still on.

I've auto crossed by GT PP at least half a dozen times with no issues. I'm not saying there isn't a problem just that I haven't seen anything in my car. I have an Auto Transmission so maybe that's a key difference in my setup. I'm a novice but still push as hard as I can.

The only thing that surprised me was the braking. I expected quicker stops given the glowing brake reviews but I'm guessing the weight just makes that really tough.

Here's the thread. Sounds like a lot of people getting it. It's specific to autox and doesn't happen at track for the same people. Sounds like if steering/braking/acceleration inputs change too fast the system malfunctions.

And due to a limited use at autox the issue may never get addressed.... But the truth is - it may happen even at streets, in some emergency accident avoidance scenarios.

From reading the thread it's not clear how it corellates with the system being on or off. Made me thinking you can get it even if the system was turned off.

News to me. I've gotten it sideways and in tank slappers and no lights or warnings.

my 2016 GT/PP has been autcrossed twice. Once I ran it as is with out turning anything off. Next event, I ran it in Advance Trac mode for 4 of the 5 runs.

I experienced NO issues. lights or warnings.... I did get her sideways a few times and still nothing....

OP...need to remember...if you read it on the internet, it MUST be true.....ahahahahaha

I must be unlucky with cars. I remember researching my previous couple of cars, reading about issues people having with them and then pulling the trigger on a car with the thought - will not happen to me.

Every issue forum mentioned I had to deal with. Plus others.

I autocross my 2016 GT/PP and have never seen this issue. Thats a season and a half, at least one event a month and an average of 6+ runs per event.

I have done 3 track days with my GT350 and have not seen any advance track issues (running in track mode).

I did one car control clinic drifting a figure-8 (everything off), and saw the issue once when I looped the car. I did around 20 significant drifts and slides, and experienced the issue the one time I went full 180.

So, even with the system all the way off, it will still monitor the sensors and throw a code if it sees something funky.

However, at least in my case, it took quite a bit of error to cause the problem.

It is quite possible that the tight, rapid transitions in AutoX are more likely to trigger whatever fault detection logic throws the error code.

To made the error go away I think I turned off the car and restarted it. Obviously not something that is feasible in the middle of an AutoX run.

Your 30 seconds of 2nd gear playing in the parking lot is not gonna cause the diff to heat up.
With that said, I got a check engine light when I spun out in my RX-8. It gave me a crank position sensor error. Cleared it and all was good.

The only time I've gotten an AdvanceTrac warning was when I drove on the Atlanta Motor Speedway NASCAR track shortly after I first went on the banking. Your car will literally go at an angle going slowly if you accelerate and that confused the computer, I think.

The only time I've had a diff warning was on a 90* track day, 20-min. sessions each on stock fluid. Since I've gone to BG 75W140 fluid I haven't seen a complaint from it since and on that same track I've improved my time significantly and have pushed much hard and advanced a class so... hopefully it stays quiet!
