I read that ford will be offering a performance catback exhaust on the ecoboost. Will it really be 30lbs lighter and will it offer an ~+5 torque/HP gains? If so, I believe the ecoboost will be .2 faster to 60 while sounding more aggressive. Not too shabby--it would be my first modificiation.

They need to offer some way to shut off the piped in engine noise. Big complaint of some reviewers

since cars are not in hand we will have to see how big an issue it is.

but i would bet there is some code that you can alter in the info center that will disable it..

As far as weight goes, every 100 pounds is a tenth of a second in the quarter mile. For power I don't remember the number it takes but I believe it's north of 20hp.

I hope so. If that's the case that would be nice for having it in the city but off for long road trips on the highway.

it will likely be in a hidden sub menu, but i think it will be a few button push thing.. or maybe a wire snip.

but i dont see the fuss. no one has any real experience with the car.. god i hate new model roll outs. :)

Please explain a novice this exhaust system, I know its not out yet, but what could I expect, and the cost. What will be required for the change?

You can expect a pair of pipes, a second pair of pipes with mufflers attached, a pair of exhaust tips attached to those, and a few clamps and bolts. Expect some more noise. Cost will probably ballpark around a grand or a bit less. Required for change: some wrenches.

More sound, possibly slightly more performance.
