Just to bust a myth posted above me, Steve Mcqueen didn't double-clutch shit in Bullitt. The producers dubbed in audio from a Ford GT40 race car to make Mcqueen's mustang sound more aggressive. The GT40 that the sounds came from had an unsynchronized box so the double clutching was necessary.

Guys. It is a freaking car. Give it a rest. Unless you truly donsimething stupid like downshift to 1st @ 100mph. You are not going to hurt a thing.

I think you just alienated yourself from a lot of members here saying it's "a freaking car". We are all well aware it is a car but to most of us it is more than "just a car."

After reading and watching videos I still don't understand what double clutching and rev matching is.
Double clutching is unneeded these days.

Rev matching... think about it like this: say you're in 5th and you're ready to shift into 4th. You know how the engine will be spinning higher at the same speed in 4th than 5th? All you're doing is compensating for that change in RPM by blipping the throttle in between shifts while the clutch is disengaged. That way, when you engage the clutch in 4th, it's a smooth transition; no bucking or jerky action to deal with.

Got it, thanks man.

Is there anyone who does a lot of skip shifting or shift into 6th as soon as you can after 40mph? when I'm on the main road in my suburb, i go 1-2-3-5-6, or if I'm in the residential area, i go 1-2-3-5. When I'm on the main road I wanna do 1-2-4-6.

I do 2-4-6 when driving economically at any speed.

Ive seen a lot of guys that own GT's with the Performance Package start off in 2nd because the 3.73's are kind of steep. My EcoBoost has 3.55's, but never thought of starting out in 2nd. Should i try that, or is my gear too tall?

My theory...

People that don't rev-match...don't know how to properly down-shift:lol:

End of story and the end of this thread:first:
I tend to agree on this. And on top of it, they (the ones who don't rev-match) seem not to know/care how clutch works.
