Ok - success at last. after some grinding of the drivers side of the brace - it now fits.

Nice work Aussie Mate...doesn't look like it needed much......was there enough free play in the battery cable to slip the brace under or did you have to undo the cable to fit it?

No there sufficient play in the cable loom for it to fit under. There is a loom fitment point in the way but that is simple to undo and sits ok on top.

The longest part was the grinding as there was a fair amount to remove.

Hey Bruce, how much did that weaken the strut tower brace? Excuse my ignorance but what were the costings for your OEM strut tower brace and who did you buy it from. My boat is about to dock in Melbourne so I hope I will get my pony a little quicker than you did or heads will bloody roll.
Ian.

That looks excellent Aussie Mate, I'm glad the grinding worked.

It finally looks how it should have when it left Flat Rock.

Ian - I dont think that it weakened the brace at all, while about 2-3mm was taken off, along a 7-8 cm length.

The result: - I took it for a test drive afterwards - and to me it felt much tighter and more responsive in the front - almost too much.

Anyway it looks great and I'm happy with it.

Thanks Aussie Mate for sharing your experience.
I've got a GT in the garage and the Ford Racing tower brace at home to go on it (looks like the factory one only black).
Was wondering how you detached the battery cable from the KBrace, it seems like it's glued on? And did you glue it back onto the tower brace when installed?

Glued on?? - not on my car.
The wiring loom just had a securing clip that was pushed into a hole on the body. I pull the clip out and there was more than enough room to put the brace under the loom.
you can see this in the last pictures that I posted.
