Coming up on my first oil change and went around trying to scout a decent dealer or mechanic to do it.

I went to the most "reputable" Ford dealer in the Houston area and after encountering no one at the counter and nobody coming to help, I freely wondered at the back of the service bays and noticed a tech working on a 2020 Mustang GT.

I approached and apologized for disturbing him and asked him what oil grade and oil quantity he was using.

His reply was: 8 quarts of 5W-20.

Defeated, disappointed and feeling sorry for the owner of that vehicle I left and made up my mind to take the oil, plug and filter needed to a quick lube and coach them the entire way to doing my oil change.

I would have walked into the lobby and asked if the owner of said mustang was in there to inform them. Tech most likely would have blown you off completely after that answer even if you would have tried to correct them or found the service manager.
