I guess these aren't really mods but... picking it up tomorrow afternoon and installing BMR jacking rails; taking off the handling package wheels & tires and putting on the 5-spoke base wheels with all-seasons; and hopefully ceramic coating the next day before getting the urge to drive it next week.

Can you send a link to the BMR Jacking Rails?

Maybe their server was down? That URL just spins in my browser and doesn't load.
Try it again it’s working for me. Those BMR rails look good. I like how the hardware is recessed up inside the rail for a cleaner look after install

If you get your car in the air more than once or twice a year these are a must-have IMO. No worries about crushing the pinch weld or only being able to use certain points to lift the car. When you want to get the car completely off the ground you can lift in the middle between the wheels to get both the front and rear wheels off the ground at the same time, place your jack stands, and then repeat on the other side. Done. (Of course you also need 4 jack stands.) They use existing bolts in the bottom of the car.

How about STEEDA? I think they also sell the rails.
if i remember correctly when i started looking at both, the steeda's didn't have the hardware hidden in the rail itself like the bmr's. it looked like a cleaner finished product to me. i can't believe there is much of a functional difference between the two however.

Steeda's installs inside the rail and they give you nice plugs for the holes, but they are a little more expensive and the coating is definitely not powder coating, it's some kind of thin wrinkle finish paint, my only grip with them.

Do you know if this is a newer design change? A thread I was reading comparing the two seemed to show that their hardware was not hidden. Maybe it was an older thread than I thought it was.

Hmm thinking about selling my handling package wheels & tires while they are still brand new (10 miles on them, replacing them with my winter set before driving the car again) and going with the black Ford Performance PP2 style instead... any opinions? Thinking it would look pretty good against the silver paint.

I really like the PP2 wheels, they are alot less busy than than the HP wheels. I think I'll go with PP2 wheels for my second set.

Mike- You know what I picked. I’m one of the apparently few who really like the Std. M1 wheel for this car. To me, it’s most reminiscent of the M1’s unique heritage whereas the HP and PP2 say more GT350 to me. But nothing wrong with that at all, they all look great and the M1 is the “replacement” for the GT350.
