First look: JL audio system amp rack

Lol well to be honest I screwed up my box. I measured the opening between the wheel wells and didn’t account for the curvature of the trim panels. I’m now building a second box that will actually fit

Lol yep, I’ve been searching for a JL Audio Max tuner and there are non within 4 hours of me. I did find one guy who offered to meet me at his buddy’s shop about halfway between us.

They are about 9 hours from me, Florida is a huge state. Besides, they don’t work with end users in that fashion. I’ve been watching their videos and read a bunch of their articles…but without the equipment I can’t do much and I’m not spending $3500 on something I’d only use once

You can do most of this with REW and two microphones, one USB and one with external 2-channel sound interface.

If you have a calibrated mic and a laptop, you can also have your car remotely tuned.

Tun4 has the same capabilities other than time alignment, I just need a mic. But, considering what I paid for all the gear and the time invested, I prefer to have a professional dial it in.

Which W7s are you using? Those subs perform much better in ported enclosures…you’ll leave a lot of performance on the table going sealed.

I ordered a UMIK-1 and will use JL Audio’s Tun4 to get my baseline target curve matched up. This will get me by until I can find a reputable JL Max tuner.
