F&$#ing New Noise

Gonna throw out a wildcard in case it's not a wheelbearing: Is it possible that the rear diffuser or some other underbody panel somehow has come loose? If it only becomes noticeable above 35mph, it feels like it might have something to do with airflow around the vehicle, and a loose panel or flap may go from fluttering to vibrating to buzzing at speed.

Thought of that too. Finally gotta get it up in the air tonight and get the wheels and everything off and start digging around. If it doesn't slap me in the face, gonna do a super great post road trip detail and take it from there. If the problem doesn't slap me in the face and it's still there after this work, I think I'll throw hubs at it and see. Or, like we used to say on the airplane "if you have a problem and you can't identify it, sit on your hands....it'll eventually turn into something you can identify", LOL.

Welp, as my luck would have it - she’s up in the air, all belly pans off, brakes completely off…and I found nothing. The hubs, you just can’t spin fast enough to tell anything. I feel nothing in them and both sides feel the same. No debris or anything rubbing on a rotating part.

I’ll keep inspecting and update, but so far, no discovery. Woulda rather had it fall apart in my hand, lol.

I’m thinking I’ll do some serious cleaning, put it all back together, and then test drive. If it’s still there, imma throw hubs at it.

Wild card. On my 2017 gt I had a weird whrrrrrrr ing sound at speed and couldn’t hear it going slow. I to could only hear it at town speed or higher. It ended up being the OEM sticker on the tail shaft it had failed and was holding on one side , as you speed up and centrifugal force takes hold the sticker lifts out and whrrrrrrrrssssss against the underbody. Took me a few weeks to work it out because at rest the sticker looked normal. Fucking sticker. It sure sounded mechanical.
