Ok here's what I'm getting about exhaust. Cat back don't make any horsepower, more sound then anything else. But what I'm thinking is that the cat back on the stock gt is so restrictive that adding an aftermarket cat back will free up some horsepower. Is this correct? Did anyone dyno the car stock then add a cat back? if so how much power did you gain with the cat back? Is there a youtube link u can post of the run? thank agin

Why should I waste my time finding you the link, when you should be doing that in the first place. The forum isn't just for spoon feeding the lazy.

After reading the 100's of posts I conclude that catbacks do not provide any gains in power!!!

This.

Benefits for catback involve some weight reduction and mainly to bring out that great Mustang note. HP gains should rank 0 on the list for money spent and reasoning for the purchase. The stock exhaust isn't a restriction without looking at major mods like SC. At that point you're probably doing a full system anyways.

Lethal Performance has dynoed their set up (which I have mated to Magna flow setup) which if anything is less restrictive it's theirs, as they remove the neck downs and flexpipe. They saw no gains other than a slight bump in torque with their H pipe.

Gain of 16bhp at the wheels with just a cat back?? But everyone says they don't make power?? not arguing just trying to get a better understanding. To answer your question O-H-5-0 (not trying to be a smart ass) thats what i was getting from a couple of people i asked. But the more i ask the question, I get different answers. Some people tell me they've seen gains. That why I'm sharing the links above to show you

It won't be popular to say, but there may be manipulation involved for marketing purposes. You would probably see a few HP gained in your own experiments.

THIS!!!!! Terry did a dyno comparison for us months ago, live and in memorex:D

Gains were 1.5-2.5hp...so nothing in reality.
