2015 Ann. Edition evaporator failure at 21000 miles and 5 months out of warranty. Ford will not address the issue. Ford dealer will not address the issue. Is this a problem or is it a few?

Sorry to hear you're got this issue.

However, it is a very, very common problem and there are multiple threads about it on the forum. It is a very pricey fix out of warranty.

My dealer was useless as well. Call Ford customer service, talk to some girl from India and start the process of Ford partially covering the repair.

If anyone wants to tackle this job, the part number for the evaporator is FR3Z-19860-A (for the Ecoboost), FR3Z-19860-B (V-6 and V8). The cost from Levittown Ford is $135. Yes, it's a big job, involving removing the dash and the climate control housing, but it is doable.

Anybody track down a good write up for the DIY behind it?

For those that have the A/C failure, were there other parts (such as the compressor) that needed to be replaced, in addition to the Evap Core? My 2015 GT PP is going into the Ford dealer on Tuesday for official diagnosis (required before Customer Care will open a case on it). Thanks!
