Can anyone suggest a shop to install a blower and tune it in the northeast? I have plenty of shops around me that can install parts but I’m more concerned with the tuning aspect of it. I’m in Connecticut.

Get it remote tuned by any of the big shops

The ESS kit is SUPER easy to install yourself! If you have a shop do it, pretty much any competent shop should have no issues installing. Tunning, unless going with something unique I'd just go with one of the big tuners by remote tuning. Wengerd is the #1 recommended tuner for ESS by ESS.

All the shops I’ve spoken to will not install the kit and allow anyone else to tune it. I do not trust any of them to tune it and would prefer Wengard. That is the dilemma I’m in.

That's pretty bizarre. I guess they want to control the entire outcome even though install and tuning is 2 different things although the shop/tuning should coincide.

Good luck!

Do you have basic hand tools and a garage? It really is a simple install!

If you dont mind going to long Island try the coyote house, owner is a great dude to talk to and deal with and he can get it tuned for u.

I personally haven't had him do anything for me yet but talked to him about my goals for the car and he was super helpful i will be bringing my car to him soon

If you can use hand tools, you can do it. Do it yourself, then you know it's done right.. then get with Wengerd for the tune, easy peasy.

How exactly do they prevent you from having someone else tune it? Once you have the car back in your possession after they are done, you can have anyone tune it...I don't think there's a way that they can lock your PCM from ever being flashed by anyone else.

They just don't install it unless you also pay them to tune it.

I guess the only downside of that is that you pay for a tune that you then overwrite the next day. But in the end they cannot actively prevent you from driving that vehicle with a tune of your choice.

So OP what you do is get your own tune from Wengerd ahead of time, you pick up the car from the installer (with their tune) and then in the parking lot you sit and flash the tune from Wengerd. That way you can drive the car with a tune that you trust. The most you'll have to drive on a tune that you don't trust is a few feet from the bay to the parking lot.
