What is wrong with my stang?
I noticed what sounds like Engine tick just after doing my first oil change @ 1300 miles. I used Motorcraft 5w20 full synthetic oil just as I always did on my 2004 stang and 2012 stang![]()
Does anyone know if we have a Ford rep in these forums like i have seen in others when researching this issue?
First time buying a Ford vehicle myself, and I've posted a similar thread awhile ago (my vid's here: ).
Hi guys,You have the same exact thing i have!
Take a look at my thread.

Ruby had a similar issue and im not yet sure if his was the second stage of mine or what, but he ultimately got his lemoned after the replaced a major engine component.
this as you highlighted was a rampant issue in 2011-2014 and has since improved greatly it seems in the 2015s but ours have fallen through the cracks.
What was your build date?
Take that thing to the dealer ASAP and get it documented. I'm currently in arbitration with the BBB - the documents and time frame I have put forth I believe will be a nice addition for my case.
Thank you for the mention, Asharus!i know there's one named Deysha. Ford Service or something similar is their username.
Hi guys,
You should definitely bring it in to your Ford Dealer first for diagnosis. Also, PM me with your VIN, dealer, mileage, full name, and best daytime number. I’ll get this escalated for you.
Thank you for the mention, Asharus!

That was my theory too. Seem to never see reports of loud clicking when the oil is still relatively cool ... only after it's fully hot (~200 deg F or above). They all do it honestly. My 2013 did it, my 2015 did it right after an oil change to 5W30 but it went away. Running Amsoil 0W40 I actually get no ticket at all anymore. I think its just the thin oil that is specced for these cars.
Deysha's been helpful to me more than once over the last couple of years!Hi guys,

None taken, astolt12. Not all noises documented on the forum are the same, and all concerns are dealer with on a case by case basis. No offense, but I took this route already with Ford. Had case manager, Autumn, for the Atlanta area and after 4 visits to different dealerships they closed each case with it was "normal;" was even walked out of one dealership because of the answer ford provided. The funny thing was each one that said it was "normal" gave a different reason for HOW the sound was being made.
Even after sending a certified letter to Ford detailing my concern they returned a canned response based on my CAS# stating "although we regret to hear about your experience the sound has been deemed normal and there will be no further action taken at this time."
OP; open a case, follow their routes and be ready to be told its normal. Continue to push and don't take no for answer. Once they brush you off your only option aside from trade in is BBB.
a $40,000 car shouldn't tick like that.

Go Deysha!
I did receive both of your messages, rhstang. I’m digging my way out of 100+ messages daily. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.Deysha I PM you a few days ago did you get my message?
Any update?Deysha I PM you a few days ago did you get my message?
Hey astolt12,Any update?
I'm curious how your case is being handled as I am at a wall with Ford. They refuse to do anything for the same exact sound.
