Engine Swap?

Hey guys! This is my first post, but my dad asked me this question. being as I dont know anything about cars (but I'd like to learn), I didn't know who to ask so I'm coming to you guys. Anyway, on to the question. My dad was wondering if it's possible to engine swap the 4 banger on the ecoboost and drop a 5.0 GT engine in there. I said no, but to be honest I have no idea. So, is it possible?

Almost certainly be cheaper to trade the EB for a GT. You are likely looking at $12k+ to complete a swap like that.

Well if you are going fuck all on the warranty just upgrade the eco to 400ish HP and be done with it.

Just trade it in and get a GT. You'll save much more money than doing a swap.

I agree. Not worth the swap. If you want that engine just trade up and be done.

swap would only be worth it if you were going all out full on gutted racecar with a built engine,trans, race seats, full cage... I mean Race Car. To swap a 5.0 into an EBM would not be cost effective. Just to put it into perspective a new stock Coyote motor from Ford would be around $7K. Used is easily $5K.

If you are looking for a project for a father and son to handle I'd look into picking up an old 60-'s era muscle car instead. Lots of cheap parts and swap kits and Much.. much simpler to work on. Hell even a RWD car from the 80's or 90's like a fox body Mustang or 3rd gen Camaro would be a fun and relatively simple cheap project compared to tackling an engine swap on a modern car.

Even then I wouldn't put a Coyote in. It would be a BBF with juice.

If you want to play swap car get a foxbody or at the most a SN-95.

Otherwise buy the right car the first time.
