Engine Hoist Points

Doing a header swap and instead of jacking up the engine from below I want to use a engine hoist. Engine hoist points. I will be using the hoist in the image.

When I was researching how to lower the oil pan on my 2019, to do an oil pump gear replacement. I was looking at a worst case scenario and was getting a shopping list to support the engine at the top. The easiest lift area was using a lift plate where the intake manifold would sit.

I just want to suspend the engine while I remove the motor mount so I can install headers. One side then the other side.
The picture in the Chilton's is not very clear where the points are.

The coyote wants a three point engine bar due to the factory mounting spots since they are located on the back of the right hand head and left side front head.
With the bar you have, you can remove two front bolts from the engine cover (what you can get to) and add slightly longer bolts with chains. You’ll want to get the air box out of the way. I will add to support the bottom just for safety but your call.

Wouldn't happen to know the bolt size so I can get a longer one?

That would be determined on the bolts you chose to take out. You can easily remove the ones you think you’ll use and take them to a hardware store so u can compare for correct pitch. Just get decent grade bolts for strength. Stock or higher grade is fine.

Taking a closer look at the picture; the points that the Ford hoist uses, are they using bolt holes already in the block?

Yes. There are two threaded holes side by side at each location.

Would you happen to know the bolt size for them?

I believe 14mm. I had spare bolts whenever I used them.

Was this hoist successful at the attachment points or did you use a few of the timing cover bolts? Looking to do this when I add headers also

I used one of the bolts on the front of the engine.

You can use this no problem I do it all the time. You can use the alternator and AC bolts. Or the two bolts at the front of the intake manifold above the water pump. If you have a strut bar just use that
