Back to square 1. Called Ford and ask them if there was any TSB on the 15 mustang, nothing popped up. They never herd of TSB 15-0128 smfh.
Seriously? they don't want to deal with it is all. My dealership tried this and I pulled out my phone and googled it for them. (on the brake recall) Another Service Writer in the repair area came up and showed HER how to find it.
Send them this link if you have their email address:

Is yours built prior to 12/5/14?

My dealer just performed TSB 15-0128. They said, though, that when they installed that update and overwrote my tune, that the engine is now idling at 3k RPM. Does this sound like it could possibly be right? I was kinda expecting it to run less than stellar (I have intake, headers, hi-flow cats, catback), but not undriveably so.

Is there anything else I should have them look at? Could simply reverting to the stock tune cause this with only the above mods? If this can't be corrected I'm debating between ordering a tuner or having the car towed to a local shop and getting it dyno tuned. Any advice?

If your aftermarket intake is the kind that runs on stock tuning, then there is no reason for your car to be idling at 3K rpm. That's way to high for idle. I believe normally it idles to about 700 rpm. The exhaust mods should not effect idle at all. I really suggest dyno tuning since you have all that mods to fully benefit from it.

I haven't picked the car up yet, that's just what the adviser mentioned to me. I thought that sounded a bit crazy (the intake is a JLT, which DOES require a tune). I wouldn't be surprised to hear it's running WORSE after the update, but I was also expecting to be able to drive it home or to a shop. Not sure I'm comfortable doing that if it's really idling that high.

Why not put your old tune back on and see how it runs? Do it in the parking lot at the dealership if that's what it takes.

That's the bummer. Bought the car with the intake on it and did not receive the handheld tuner.

Know any other way I can get that tune?

JLT intake needs tuning. Your car had a tune when you bought it with the intake. When the dealer reflashed, it wiped your tune. That is why it runs like crap now. Either get a tuner or stock air box to be able to drive it home.

Shouldn't make the car idle at 3000 RPM though. If that was the case, anyone putting on a CAI would be complaining of their cars idling and 3000 RPM before installing a tune.

This happened to much a bunch of times when I had just bought the car. Idk why it does it, But I would come to a stop at a red light only to find out the car turned off.
Haven't had it happen in a month or so...
Got in my car leaving work yesterday, fired her up and she idled for about ten seconds and then died

Like wtf? It's infuriating because you never know when its going to happen. It's always in the back of my head in traffic. But as I've stated previously, at least all my stalls have been at idle. I really feel for the guys that have had this happen while moving. :tsk:

I doubt his car is straight idling at 3K rpms. I'm pretty sure the idle is erratic and most likely bouncing up and down between normal idle of around 650-700 rpms to the 3K rpms. The ECM is trying to keep idle to normal parameters but with the higher volume of air it is now receiving, idle will shoot up then ECM tries to normalize it again thus the erratic idle.

The certified mechanic at the dealership should know this and they should have turned down the request to update the ECM with the intake or at the very least advised him that this could happen.

Update on my after TSB experience:
Since I had a chance to drive the car yesterday for a long period of time, I noticed after the TSB done that the RPM needle is now quick to stay at the normal idle when the clutch is depressed during a slow down to a stop thus preventing the idle dip and stalling. So far so good but still keeping an eye out. I have not programmed my tune yet and just running on the stock tune for more observations.

Yeah, they did warn me it could happen.

I think it was worth the reflash though as I'd rather have to buy a new tune than have my car dying while in traffic.

Plan is to buy an SCT tuner from a local shop and have somebody email me a tune that will work well with my mods until I can get a proper custom tune down the line. I don't want to leave the car sitting at the dealership for a long time and there's nowhere particularly close I can tow it to to get the tuning done.

I'd personally look at an nguage. Though just 'getting' a tune for it might be tricky. You could look at Lund and get him to send you a tune that will work. But, of course, you'd have to pay for it.

I'm sure you can get a canned tune with a JLT intake programming to at least get you going. Of course actual dyno tuning would be best.
