see the red? my question to you is simple: what is a better more balanced car that performs at the level of a GT PP for the money?

every word in that question is very important. i ask because i looked and am curious as to what you know that I don't...

It's a stupid question that is impossible to answer without knowing what kind of "performance" target the user is aiming at and what user's shop/auto tech capabilities are or are not.

You can make ANYTHING fast, handle, and overall "perform" well.

With $45k I could easily build an LS swapped fox body that would man handle any, off-the-showroom-floor Mustang GT. Easily.

Hell, I could build a swapped C10 and do the same for even less.

Maybe a Honda Civic? there are literally thousands of choices.

I believe in some corners of the forum they're raising money to buy you a mirror so you can check if the cojones are still attached. :)
I'd post a pic for those folks, but then you'd probably never see me on here again! Lol!
Speaking as one of the few women on here... a car guy who confidently and unapologetically drives an EB has no need to prove or compensate for anything in that department 😏 😁

if its a stupid question raised by your assertion what does that say about your assertion?

I was talking about store bought options...

...but since you mentioned it none of those things will thread the needle as nicely as the current iteration of the mustang GT does.

I know because i spent 3 years fixing all the problesm in a fox platform and in the end came out with something that was a total track weapon but laked the sophistication of these modern cars.

when i say balanced i don't mean balanced handling or performance. i mean overall balance. total package.

nothing comes close to the current mustang GT.

Don't bother. Some people just like to piss on things and go against the grain. They always have some story that is bigger, better, blah blah blah. I had an Ecoboost for years, it was a great car, still faster than all pre-coyote GTs, nimble and fun. When my GT finally arrives, it will be just that much better. There isn't much difference between the two and they are both far and away better than any Mustang I've had before. Best car? That depends on a lot of variables but the S550s are fantastic cars for the price. If someone cares to disagree that's fine, but they aren't going to take away from my fun so they can go piss and moan about it while I drive off finger extended.

oh, i know, im asking so he can show how wrong he is. i looked at everything new. i built a fox platform car that turned out to be an absolute riot but isn't as nice to be in as the GT. I had to make some trade offs.

sometimes you get what you pay for.

I don't see any reason anyone would regret going from an Ecoboost to a 5.0.. besides gas mileage maybe, but why buy a Mustang if you're worried about that... get the GT and never look back.
Maybe so. But I test drove both a Gt with pp1 and the eb HHP with everything. and the gt was nice. But not 18k more nice.
That was my problem, at that point it was 2019 c7 z-51 loaded money As I was looking in '21 . That was where I was at. 18k more for the gt, or bite the bullet and spend 2k more than the gt and get a c7z51 with mag ride and basicly everything.
Admittedly I was looking at a bad time to want to buy a new mustang as pricing and dealers "extra" mark up on them was nuts. But I could not wrap my head around paying 56-59k for a mustang. So, because I haven't been spoiled by todays showroom floor h/p. the 330hp of the ebhhp will do just fine. I'm sure If I already owned a new vehicle with 400+ before looking it might have affected my choice. We are really blessed today that you can walk into a showroom and walk out with a 400+h/p car with full warranty. It was not long ago that the top dogs came with 225hp . Peperage farms remembers..lol

That's cool you're happy with the Ecoboost and all, but I wouldn't pay $56-59K for a damn GT either, you're crazy if you do, imo... but I don't see what that has to do with what I said. In the end the GT is the better car of the two.. doesn't mean you can't be happy with the Ecoboost, just stating facts.

That was what made my original decision for an Ecoboost. GT was nice but not the price difference nicer. All things being equal, it was a great car and it was still a 300 HP, great handling coupe. Especially given the 225 HP Fox bodies I grew up with it was a blast to drive. I also think the SN95 years of stripped out, crapbox cars with an anemic 6 cylinder well past it's prime didn't do the platform any favors so now you have an entire generation of people that think it's GT or go home.

Oh, I'm sure it is a better car if you need the extra power and can use it . On the test drive the gt pp1 did nothing but smoke the tires when I mat the loud pedal Cool when I was 17y/o but not so much today as one of the over the hill and gaining speed gang. but it just a hard pill to swallow.
I mean if I am paying that type coin, I want the car exactly the way I'd order it. And I am sure If covid was not an issue and limited stock, and order wait times, and dealer extra mark up's on the v8 cars. I'd have ordered a red metalic pp2 gt the way I want it. It wasn't in the cards. At least for me. The fact that the dealer laid a number that was 9800 under MSRP when they wanted 10k Market adjustment on the gt's. also helped twist my arm.

Maybe, who knows for sure.
I drove both, the gt pp1 when I matted the gas or even 1/2 throttle just went up in smoke. A selling point to a 20 something, but I am older and well.
And to be fair, I was looking at a bad time, in mid 2021 the dealers had buyers by the balls. and You paid dearly if you wanted a gt. I do miss the v8 exhaust music. but maybe after a few model years of the s650 are ironed out. and prices come back from space. I'll think Of getting one of the last v8 only cars.

I say all of that yet I sold my Ecoboost for a GT that is due to finally be delivered soon. I reached a point where the modifications were going to rapidly add up to the price difference and weren't going to get me to the same level. I still maintain, an Ecoboost is good from the factory and great with a few minor modifications but past that you're return on investment dwindles and you'll need V8 displacement.

Ya, I get that, but For me. I am not going to mod my car. I have another vehicle that is my high h/p v8 money pit. That is in the middle of the project creep . Cuz the 454 was not enough, so now it is 496 and maybe a turbo or 2.
THis one the mustang is a get in a drive it for me, while the project gets deeper and deeper into the project creep.
And yes. most likely a gt even at 2021 prices would be cheaper than the "project car" . oh, well.
We are lucky they still offer both. it was not that long ago,, that most in the industry wrote off the v8 dead, 40 years later still pumping.

It really just comes down to an individual’s opinion and not much more. The Mustang is a sporty car but not really a muscle car unless you equip it that way, i.e., with a V-8. A V-8 is part of the classic definition of a muscle car and that’s all I’m interested in, so it’s no decision for me. But that’s just me and is meaningless to anyone else.
