I predict there will be as many, if not more, EcoBoost Mustangs sold as GT models. And that is not a bad thing.

I am sure there will be far more ecoboost sales than GT. Cheaper starting price, better mpg, most likely cheaper insurance will all help sell the ecoboost.

I personally plan to get the EcoBoost. While I'd love the GT, it's just a bit out of my price range. Also, while I'd love to have the horse power of the GT and the performance...it's just not practical. It would more be about having it just to have it. At this point in time, I'd rather have the EcoBoost and save money up front over the GT and get much better gas milage.

Also, my first Mustang was an 89 4 cylinder that had no power. My 2nd was a 96 GT that didn't have a ton of power (225 HP if I remember correctly). My current Mustang is a 2003 V6 that I got when I graduated college. It has 195 HP. The EcoBoost is going to give me a nice increase in power anyway over what I have and I think still will be a ton of fun to drive. Again...I'd love the GT...but I can't justify that kind of money at this point in time.

A lot of people will share the same view. There isn't anything wrong with that either. It will still be a quick, great handling, fun to drive, practical car with great mpg and trunk space for what it is. Only those serious about racing, those who feel they have to have the best for bragging rights, etc. will be able to "justify" the added cost.

I am not in market for a new one, but love the new 2015 so far. And looking at the prices & predicted HP & MPGs, looks to me the 4 Cycl Turbo is best bang for the buck. Good luck everyone making your final choice

Great points you bring up !! I also plan on getting the EcoBoost for sure. I currently have a 2006 MKV VW GTI, 2.0 Turbo with 200hp and 207 ft. pound torque. As many of you know the GTI is rated every year as one of the top best "hot hatches" out there. The crisp Euro handling and steering, wow, and the new 2015 GTI MK7 is already getting amazing reviews and write ups. The engine is very torquey and the new 15' one will have even more hp and torque.

I can't imagine how fun it's going to be to drive the new EcoBoost Mustang !! with 305+ hp and 270+ ft torque Wow its going to be great. I'm giddy just thinking about it :)

I don't see too many people willing to shell out $30+k for a 4 cylinder Ecoboost that doesn't sport a luxury badge. I have a feeling Ford will sell more V6 than the Ecoboost. I also feel that GT will sell better than Ecoboost

I would think that 50% of Mustangs sold would be the EB.

v6 15%
v8 35%
I am not so sure about that. The v6 will be the fleet engine of choice I think.

Why would someone want the V6 Mustang..? Unless it's the only Mustang they can afford.. Most people will opt for DFI, it is a logical choice.

The V6 base comes to $24,425 MSRP. To upgrade to just the EcoBoost base is $25,995. The big jump in price comes for those wanting the Premium or Performance PKGs and other options. I can see many people paying $1,570 more up front to get a car that gets much better gas mileage and that will be lighter and probably perform better than the V6.

Who cares about fleet sales..?

The rental car companies that choose to buy them. Thousands of cars that cost even 1-2 thousand less is a big number.

I am sure that the Ecoboost will outsell the GT. I really wonder if V6 will outsell the GT or the Ecoboost though. Will it still be the volume seller with its much fewer options?

A lot of people ride around in premium V6s, at least where I'm at. It represents a better value when you can get all the comforts without the extra expense and added gas costs of the GT.

The problem is that Ford has taken that out of the picture by significantly limiting the options for the V6. You can't get the premium features on the new one, and it looks like the 3.55 axle ratio is the only significant performance upgrade.

They are basically just short of forcing people to buy the Ecoboost if they want any kind of premium features.

Remember they originally didn't want to sell the V6 for this redesign but kept it for the rental fleets.
