Well, they did the Cmax and got caught. They had to drop the rating 4 mpgs if memory serves. Dont think for a single second Ford Motor Co is made up of saints and wont try to pull a fast one now and then. Marketing and perception plays a big part of their gig be damned the consumer. Its all about the bottom line. Like I said before you wont see them advertise the Chinese made Mt82 by name and for good reason.
My co-worker received a payment from Hyundai for false advertising their MPG on her 2013 Elantra....2 different companies but just saying....
And do you think they are inclined to report false advertising again on their engines?

I'm pretty sure both are going to make sure their #s are close to accurate as possible so they don't get any bad publicity (especially in Europe where this EB is going to be huge) and also any big fines.

I know it's probably wrong that I couldn't care less about fuel mileage, but I don't.

I've spent the last 6 years getting 40mpg in my Jetta TDI, time to use my carbon credits. :headbang:

In all seriousness, from the sounds of it, the EB isn't likely to gain a whole lot with typical use if you're thinking of even remotely driving it like a Muscle Car is meant to be driven.

If I wanted to drive a car like a Prius, I'd buy a Prius, just say'n. :headbonk:

Good point, and I'm one of the those prospective buyers who's interested in the EB more for bridging the performance gap between the current V6 and the upcoming V8, while (hopefully) providing an appreciable weight savings over the V8. Plus the fact that it's several thousands of dollars cheaper than the GT.

It's a shame the V6 model can't be optioned like the EB, but makes sense I suppose from Ford's strategic perspective of selling more EBs.

Well for me, it will shine because I can get a awesome looking car that is actually a sports car with high HP and Torque AND it gets good MPG. I mean the V8 is awesome but for me, I wouldn't get my value out of it nor do I want to drop near 40K for a V8 that will get horrible MPG in the NOVA/DC commute.

Maybe you misunderstood me or I wasn't clear? It sounds like we agree :headbang:

I am interested to see the real world MPG. I have a daily 90 mile commute (45 each way). I have 2013 Fusion Titanium with the 2.3 liter EB turbo. I only average around 20 mpg. I do a mix of city and hwy. So I am skeptical about what kind of numbers this more powerful EB 4 banger will do. I think they should have used a V6 EB instead, I also think they should have used that in the Fusion.

Yikes. Sometimes I wish I had the 2.3 instead of the 1.6L but I cannot imagine getting 20mpg in a Fusion oh my god. That's close to my V8 BMW which gets 18-20 pretty reliably with lead foot! And the Turbo lag at least on the 1.6 is awful. In some scenarios, I would rather have a 1991 civic.

hehe, I get around that combined in my 2013 5.0 with CAI and exhaust, sans tune which would make it even better.

I'm really looking forward to the reviews of these different models. I want to see how well the ecoboost performs compared to the other versions and also what differences there may be in the handling, weight distribution, etc.
