Truly great advice all around. I think I will get the GT with PP. Now the big question will be cloth or leather. I prefer cloth in Florida because the interior stays cooler in summer and warmer in winter. I just pray they finally put some decent cloth seats in these cars!

Well, it's a Turbo 4...you know it's going to be modded heavily and on top of that, those annoying exhausts added to them.
It took me a good month or so to talk myself into actually being ok with the ecoboost. Then I actually wanted one for about a week until I said I was getting a V8. Then it dawned on me that people are actually going to put cherry bombs and stuff on it.

Then I died a little.

In case you were not aware, the leather seats are heated and cooled. cooled seats are killer if you've never tried them. :)

Yep I really do think you are going to see a lot of cherry bombs on the EB4.

It's the main reason I'm going with the GT.

Yah they rock during the summer and heated seats are oooohhh sooooo nice in the winter.

This isn't always the case. You will need good brakes to ride up and down mountain roads as well. I've burnt up plenty of factory brakes riding up and down the Blue Ridge Parkway here in Appalachian Mountains. Good brakes aren't just for track, it's just an insurance/peace of mind thing for me. I'm a firm believer in "your car is only as good as your brakes"
I drive mountain roads in PA all the time, and the only time I ever had a brake issue was in my 1985 Ford Ranger with no power assist. I'm a firm believer in great brakes as well, but factory brakes these days are so good that they render the Brembos a complete non-factor for anything but track duty.

As a side note, if you are actually running into brake fade on a mountain decent, you might need to look into revising your driving style for that situation. I rarely even need to use the brakes on descents. Proper gear selection is key.

My Vote GT

Since I own both a ecoboost, (focus st)and a 5.0 (mustang gt) I will say highway fuel mileage for the EB may not be what ford claims, though the 5.0 will meet or exceed the ratings. Where the EB will have a advantage is if you do more stop and go type driving

I live in FL also and thought about that for a long time, I decided on getting the upgraded premium with leather because of one thing only.... Air Conditioned seats... I've had them in cars before down here, and it's amazing after the 15 seconds it takes for the air to get cool.
