Correct Metalhead...I think that's what I have done already. I would rather the Premium, for now over the PP.

The mustang will be my daily driver and I think my kids would rather a softer ride......for now...:)

The EB I am looking at now is 200a w reverse, voice nav, 18 foundry wheels and no adaptive cruise and 12 speaker setup....

I believe the performance parts are easier to add aftermarket than the premium parts.

And MANY people change out half of the upgrade parts from the Performance Package anyway. (like wheels, tires, suspension parts, possibly gears).

Though +1 for the get both so you won't have buyers remorse.

I got a loaded 2014 GT Premium, and added some of the performance parts.
This time around I just got a 2017 GT Premium PP with Leather Recaros and the car is nearly perfect from the start!
Not sure I agree that replacing the covering on cloth seats and a stereo install is harder than changing out:

Wheels/Tires
brake rotors/calipers/pads,
front springs,
sway bar,
differential,
radiator
and installing
Tower strut
Dash gauges

I realize there are other additions to the Premium package, but the cost and labor to do the PP is MUCH more intensive and expensive aftermarket than what you get from Premium.

The PP brakes alone are $1200. That itself is more than the cost of aftermarket custom leather (with piping, perforations and different color inserts) and aftermarket touchscreen.

Well, I think I see the point here...premium and PP is the way to go here, if you can.

At the moment, from someone who drives a Chevy Equinox as a daily and a Ford Fusion-energi, this Ford Mustang EB premium should do just fine......can't wait

Ambient lighting
MyColor gauges...or whatever it's called
Dual zone climate control
Heated/Cooled seats
Speakers/amp/sub (premium package dependant)
Drive modes
Pony projection lights
BLIS (201a)
Memory seats (201a)

The difference between a premium and a base is much more than just leather seats and an 8" touchscreen. You can't even add some of the listed options to a base model. You can add every PP option.

I would get the Premium package. I love the features it comes with, especially for a DD. Heated/cooled seats, puddle lights, ambient lighting, toggles, 8in display, leather, sound system, and the many other items. I would have gotten the PP also but wanted an auto for my DD. A lot of people really like and comment on the puddle lights and ambient lighting when they see the car.

For under a grand I'm adding Koni Sports and GT350r springs. If you planned to track it you could add a FRPP Track Suspension and aftermarket radiator, as well as GT brakes for under $2k. Keep in mind that if you want just the Premium heated/cooled front seats later they tend to sell for about $2k used, the 8in display is around $1,000? Not including the puddle lights, sound system, ambient lighting, toggle switches (not sure if you can even set them up to adjust the drive mode), and the many other small items... If I were you I would get the Premium car, and down the line add the PP stuff if you feel you need it. I know the 14" GT brakes they come with are fairly cheap to buy later on and should be an easy install and the FRPP Street Suspension Kit which I believe is the same as the PP suspension is about $800 and a fairly easy install as well.

I assume that the need to choose is being driven by available 2016 stock.

I have the Premium with Performance Package on my DD but if I could only have ONE package only I would have to choose the Premium.

Not having the interior upgrades (Leather/Larger Screen/ Toggle switches) would
bother me more than not having the PP add-ons.
Same here, I have an Ecoboost Premium with PP. If I could only have one it would be premium.

I have a Premium/PP and if I had to choose I would go with the Premium over the PP.

Love the Premium stuff and I hated the black rims so my vote is a Premium.

FWIW, I didn't notice a differance in suspension and brakes when I test drove the PP. I'm sure it's evident but not at normal daily driving conditions IMO. I daily drive mine and I occasionally punch it but for the most part it's just going to work and running errands. The gearing was different. Not sure I like it but I'm sure you get use to it. The extra gauges looked cool but I really love the Premium stuff better and money was tight when I bought mine.

Huh? Dude, you can get a set of take-offs from a non-PP GT for a song. I just bought calipers, pads rotors and brake lines, all four corners, from a member here. Cost me $350.

If you have jackstands, a floor jack, a ratchet set and a case of beer you can install 'em yourself on a Saturday.

My vote is Premium all the way, especially if it's a daily driver. Heated/cooled leather seats, Sync 3 with backup camera, Android Auto, etc.

All the bells and whistles make for a very enjoyable experience, even when sitting in stop-and-go traffic.

Also, unless you plan to mod it extensively to race or whatever, I think the PP is unnecessary.

Brakes are a cheap upgrade, and most people do rims and tires regardless. If you're gonna lower the car you'll do suspension anyway. I have no issues with the Premium stock suspension. I installed the Ford Performance intake/tune, I'm gonna do these GT brakes, probably put in a larger intercooler and call it a day. Great car.
