Keep us posted as it will be interesting to see if they determine a cause. Also, post up photos too if you get some. Hope it all works out well for you!

Wow.

Subscribing to stay posted on this.

This is the first i've heard of this. Did the hole occur at the same location on both sides?

Okay here is the update I was hoping I wouldn't have to post.. Ford has declined the warranty and revoked my entire powertrain warranty due to modifications. They fail to offer any proof that my modifications caused the catastrophic failure, they simply just say it's because I modified the car. Not sure what exactly to do from here. I cannot afford a new engine and I can't afford to pay on a car that I'll never be able to drive.

Here are the pics from the dealership. They say there is holes in the bottom of the both sides of the block and the oil pan.

That is BULL.

Did you have anything that would've allowed an overrev or something? I don't think that's right; might be time for a lawyer.

Thing is Ford has to Show proof that the mods that were done caused the engine to fail. I am sorry you received this news and hopefully a Ford rep can come in and help you.

That sucks man. The thing I don't get is that your only mods were the JMS boosmax and pedalmax along with the CAI. I thought that the JMS mods plugged into your OBD2 port and once you unplugged them, the dealer could not tell there was a tune. So basically they are voiding your warranty for a CAI? Something here does not add up.

Did you tell them about the JMS modules?

Yup. Ford has to prove that your mods caused the failure. Don't let them get over you. They are trying to take the easy route. What mods did you have if you don't mind me asking?

Please list all the mods you did to your car. Perhaps others will read about your mods and back off if they can determine what may have contributed to the failure.

Welp, this puts a pretty sour taste in my mouth from Ford... Shy of throwing 40+lbs of boost at it nothing should make the car blow up like that.

Edit: NM... 2 tunes too many...

Here is my mod list in the order they were installed.

Car purchased on 7/28/15
JMS BoostMax installed by MRT on 7/31/2015
MMR Cold Air Intake Installed by me on 8/10/2015
JMS PedalMax installed by MRT on 8/14/2015
Steeda Throttle Body Spacer installed by me on 8/19/2015

I had a coolant hose crack and leak at the end of September with about 3000 miles on the car. From there I've had issues with the hose that connects from the motor to the intake just before the turbo. I was on my way to the dealership when the engine blew to get the 3rd hose installed.

I did have a sit down meeting with the service manager and general manager of my dealership. The GM is going to try what he can to help me with Ford but he of course cannot force them to do anything. I'm hoping he is able to help though because I'm not sure where to go from here. Ford customer service was unable to help me escalate the issue and just stuck by the line of I modded the car and they won't fix it. I've said Magnuson-Moss act so many times today..

The BoostMax connects in between the gas pedal, MAP sensor, and the boost controller plug on the intercooler. If you have the PedalMax it connects to the gas pedal and then the BoostMax connects into it.

So it's not a tune but it does make an adjustment to the boost. When running 93 octane it adds 5 PSI when demanding max boost. If you run anything less than 93 you have to put a nob that is adjustable from 0-5, I'm not sure exactly how that works. I've always used 93 in this car and my previous one.

The damage had already been done, the dealership told Ford about all the mods so they're voiding the warranty based on all of them. They didn't pinpoint any one mod causing this issue and they need to. If something I did to the car blew it up then I'll take responsibility, otherwise they need to cover it. I did go and remove the JMS modules and but the stock cables back to normal. All the data is in the engine and the computer anyways so they need to tear it apart and determine what exactly caused this and how.

Performance Modifications:
JMS BoostMax Module - Adds +5 PSI on 93 octane, up to an additional +44rwhp and +52 ft-lbs
JMS PedalMax Module – Improves Throttle Response and Decreases Turbo Lag
MMR Cold Air Intake w/K&N Filter
Steeda Throttle Body Spacer
Steeda Strut Tower Brace
SCT X4 93 Octane Tune

You have this mod list on one of your videos... you have a tune and a boost max...
