Sorry if this has been posted before. I recently purchased a 2016 Ecoboost. On cold start up I’ve notice a very strange noise that stops once the engine is warm. Is this normal? If it’s not, Can anyone tell me which part sounds like is failing

Additional information, all the gauge readings are normal. The car doesn’t stall or lose power, no issues with shifting. The car idles at around 750 rpm. The car drives and runs fine besides the noise during the cold start.

I've heard a Tacoma make that same noise when shutting down I've forgotten what system it is maybe egr? I think its normal emission shit but it may be something else it's not your engine.

Thank you for replying. I was hoping it wasn’t an engine issue.

Its warm-up programming that restricts incoming air, and feeds more fuel than normally required to idle the engine. It lasts about a minute, and then turns off and the sound goes away. It even affects how the exhaust sounds, because the engine's running rich. I hear it when I'm in the garage and remote-start the car. Part of the catalytic converter warming process, perfectly normal.
