I have made a lot of comments on this thread, but I still don't have a clear mental picture of what happened when. Maybe I should shop commenting.

it spun a bearing, it has been a nightmare getting it fixed.

The bearing spinning is due to low oil is what I am guessing. What caused the oil level going down is either I being irresponsible or car burning oil because of a problem.

Hopefully all will end soon.

This is the Sherlock Holmes "case of the missing oil" Where did it go?

I really doubt most new car buyers are checking their engine oil levels in between oil changes. Although that used to be 3000 miles.

How many quarts does the v6 take? And how many miles until that first oil change? If it was dropping a quart every 500 miles, it seems like that would be obvious.

I changed 1st oil around 6k if i remember right. It was low like 1.5-2 quarts missing. i blamed the oil filter before the 2nd oil change the car's engine was knocking. When knock developed I was driving it as peaceful as I ever drove it.

Since day 1 it had me worried honestly. Weird vacuum sound from intake manifold. This happened on a Sunday, that very next day I had a schedule to get the vacuum sound coming from intake manifold and leaking coolant hoses checked.

I would ... when a bearing gets smoked.

I thought these cars had a low oil level warning, as well as a low oil pressure warning. Not too clear in the owner's manual about the "Engine Oil" warning, if it is pressure and/or actual level.

Most newer cars have a level warning, which is good IMO. If it's just a low oil pressure warning, then many times it's too late to react on it.

Never had oil low indicator, always checked oil temp and pressure before I drove the car.

I thought you said it had 2 quarts remaining. Not 2 quarts low. 2 quarts low isn't good but I wouldn't think that would hurt the engine.

It has been so long, I dont even remember honestly. either 3 quarts missing and 2 out or vice-versa. Hoping this bs ends soon. This is my last "sporty" car. Next will be a regular sedan and after that a Porsche Panamera :D

who knows. Either way, I am thinking that if the engine did run low on oil, the first symptom would not be bearing failure. It should have lit something up on the dash. Either low pressure, or high temp, etc. Why else have all the fancy electronics and software monitoring everything ?

Porsche Panamera is ambitious !

Read through the thread, that is some rotten luck. I'm sorry your car didn't turn out for you. I definitely went and checked my oil out of paranoia. :D My V6 has been nothing but reliable to me, hopefully once yours is fixed your luck will turn around.

Not saying it's you man, just seams weird. The whole dealership experience seems kinda shady to me. Or just me reading the way you are talking about it and not completly understanding what you're saying...who knows could just be me. Wouldn't be the first time. Hope all works out for ya man!!!

The issue is that the breakdowns may be completely random and unrelated to anything the owner did to the car.

But once you mod it doesn't matter, the dealership is not in the business of paying out warranty claims and will find any reason to deny the warranty claim; especially a modded car. Same as insurance companies arent in the business of paying out every claim.

Mod is pay to play bottom line.
