Good review as far as magazine reviews go. But this will surely bring the most predictable commentary possible

Wish they ran a 3.55 V6 vs the EB PP.

But overall you can see again here why Ford didn't offer the premium or PP with the V6...

That's a nice write-up. Glad someone finally did this.

Yea they should have gotten the 3.55 V6 to make it a more even acceleration comparison. The mpg probably would have suffered more tho

I didn't even get past the opening statement before I rolled by eyes.

Starting at a price of $33,125 after destination charges, it’s out of the reach of some would-be sports car owners. Plus, it uses a lot of gas and comes with high insurance premiums, running the cost of ownership even higher.
because we have SOOO many sub 30k sports cars in this world.... I guess the guy is talking about brz/frs and maybe the discontinued 4 banger turbo gen coupe and some v6 mustangs/camaros? because that's about it far as sports cars under 30k.

and insurance on a gt is hardly more over a eco and v6. It was difference of $5 every 6 months for me between an ecoboost and a gt... worst case scenario you put more gas in but can still run regular over ecoboost premium.

off to read the rest of this now that I got my "im a v8 owner rawrrrrr" out of my system lol

That sounded more like a performance package vs base comparison.

These performance comparisons are always the same story. Eco is a hair quicker. But I don't think majority of V6 owners had performance first in mind to begin with.

Buying a Mustang means someone is looking for a fun car vs. all the other things out there so, yes, performance is expected, even in the base car.

My 2004 V6 Coupe is all base and I love driving that car; up until I bought the 2015 it was my favorite car of everything I have owned/driven so far.

This review is concentrating on price, and yes, this is a fresh perspective. Too many reviews conclude that if you do not buy the V8 you should go home in shame. What those writers ignore is that the V6 or the EB will dust off the lower forms of 4-wheel econosleds out there that even cost more to buy and own.

However, personal opinion is just that, personal opinion. To all potential buyers --> it is up to YOU to decide what is right for your budget, your insurance situation, your fuel needs, and what YOU think a Mustang should sound like. Stop asking 'what should I get' on sites like this because everyone has THEIR OWN opinion that fits THEIR wants.

All six powertrains are fine and are a blast to drive. Drive them and balance the need equation. If I did not want a Premium Package car I would probably have purchased a 051A. But my EB is a great car as well. It depends on you and not what everyone else thinks you should buy.

Okay, I'll burn the soapbox now....

Like I said in the Camaro thread, Ford should follow Chevy's lead and let the buyer pick the engine they want and then get the majority of options on that engine (unless they obviously don't work with that engine/set up).

The review said "Smoother, more comfortable, and cheaper..." that did it for me. And for just those attributes did I choose the 2015 V-6 vert. Good honest review in my book. Just the facts Jack!

Ford has forced Mustang Convertible buyers into choosing a Base V6 configuration allowing the 051A Package as the only upgradable option Trim wise or going "Premium" EB 2.3 I4. Thats a 5K upgrade and makes you take Leather Interior whether you prefer that or not. For Convertible purchasers, its an easy choice. Base V6 "Vert" with A/T 051A & Spare Tire for 32K or EB "Premium" configuration for 38K+! Approaching 40K, I`s opt for the 5.0 V8 GT Vert.

Yes Phil1336, Ford put us in a "trick bag" by limiting our choice of options on the V-6 vert...you are so right about that. I only wanted leather, so I bought the base car and added Katzskins leather just like I wanted it...and cheaper too. No problems with my ride now!
