To some this is the comparison:

I never had people say odd stuff to my face with the EB. In fact I get more questionable comments from people after learning I got the GT (gas guzzler, impractical, etc.)

Its about what will make YOU happy.

I know, brother. When you drive a non-V8 Mustang, the exchange almost always goes like this.

Other person: "whoa, nice Mustang!"
You: "Thanks!"
Other person: "V8?"
You: "No, I got the (EB or V6)."
Other person: *disappointed look* "Cool, bro."
You: "It makes more than 300 horses!"
Other person: "Oh." *walks away*

Now individually, each instance of this doesn't mean squat. But if you drive the non-V8 long enough, you get f*cking tired of this. It was almost worth it to go GT just to not hear this crap at every meet, every race track, and every driveway.
Lol, I've always been a mentally tough person and never really cared what other people said about anything......then I got my V6 and realized how wrong I was
Having one of these V6/EB Mustangs will truly test and/or build your mental toughness...truth.
A lot of these insults will come from other Mustang owners and sometimes in the most subtle manner like "The EB/V6 is a great motor, but I could never see myself getting anything but a V8" or "The EB/V6 is a good car, my wife has one" haha.

Although now I don't care so much. The 6-spd MT on my car make it very fun to drive. I also threw on Flowmasters for some sound and a PedalCommander to make it feel like it has 300hp and my car is way more fun now that I may not even trade up for a V8 until much later lol (like s650 much later). Thank you Southview lol.

Anyways in the end, all it is, is a dick measuring contest. Even if the 4-cyl EB had 600hp stock and the GT still with its 430hp, you'd still get laughed at for having a 4 cylinder, look at the new 2017 Raptor with the 3.5L EB V6, people hate it because it's a V6 despite it being faster than the previous 6.2L V8 models. That is America for ya.

Haha don't even bring up the pedal commander. You'll get way more crap from people by having one of those than you will from the EB vs V6 vs GT pissing contests. :D

Because every time a thread pops up about one of these, all those who don't have one insist that they do nothing and are just a waste of money and those who do have one insist they work as advertised. You will hear things like "oh just put your foot harder on the gas pedal it's the same thing" but those who have it say "no that flooring the gas still does not give the same effect".

If a car is thing to get you from point A to point B, get the Ecoboost. Its efficient, yet powerful and a very nice car.

If you're a car hobbist, like to go fast, going to play with it, mod it, etc... get a GT b/c you can NEVER have enough power. (Bikes are a different story)

Here's why, no matter what you get after a while you get used to the speed, and want more. It doesn't matter what you get, you'll always want more, even if its just to keep you busy tinkering, b/c you like to tinker with your car.

If you get a V6, you'll want a tune & more power or upgrade to Ecoboost/GT.
If you get an Ecoboost, you'll want a tune, exhaust, bigger turbo, bigger intercooler, etc. or upgrade to a GT.
IF you get a GT, you'll want a tune, exhaust, suspension, etc.... or want a GT350.
If you have a GT350/GT500, you'll want to tune it, etc...

If you have a Porsche Cayman, you want a Cayman S. If you have a Cayman S, you'll want a 911. If you have a 911, you want a 911 S. If you have a 911 S, you'll want a 911 Turbo. If you have a 911 Turbo, you'll want a 911 Turbo S. IF you have a 911 Turbo S, you'll want a tune or McLauren or Ferrari. It NEVER ends, if its your hobby.

Well I do know they are not that popular, I thought these things were a sham when I first heard about them on the Mustangs but I thought I'd give it a shot, $300, doesn't void warranty, money back guarantee, 5 minute install, and no negative reviews on any of the brands. Installed mine last Tuesday and there is no way in hell pressing the gas pedal harder will achieve this, it's a night and day difference from stock throttle response, at highest setting these things make taking off very violent.

Not that rarity alone always equals future value, the V6 MT S550, if I was guessing, is likely a fairly rare combination as most V6 cars are going to rental fleets and they rarely have MT cars....I'd also imagine it is plenty quick as DD car.

Ultimately they are right. As much as I don't want to admit it, the GT is unnecessary, impractical, and not really good for the environment. It was something I struggled with when purchasing, but ultimately gave in to my lesser desires. Had I kept the EB I could have made a case for being more practical, even claimed it was slightly 'green' for a mid life crisis. No way to do that with the GT.

So while I do have a twinge of guilt every time I turn it on or fill it up, that goes away rather quickly once I put my foot down.

I bought and returned a Pedalmax before even installing it, only because my guy at Bama said it would not play well. You can find others who use it with a tune no problem though.

It's the LAG TIME that these seem to address that still intrigues me, as they claim to work like a wire. They don't claim to make the car more powerful, they claim to make the throttle much, much more responsive.

Somebody should do a good comparison, as I am not sure that any tune is going to address the issue of LAG in the throttle. I love my tune, but don't like the LAG that I still feel between pushing the gas pedal and response time.
