So I have noticed a small but not insignificant number of failures of the Early ecoboosts on here and want to see if there is a pattern so we can try to help our brothers who may have a failure in the future have some evidence to fight a warranty denial.

This is not a thread to discus the merits of this vs anyother engine and I respect the right of any of the members on here to ask that their name be Altered or changed on the list to avoid the regrettable backlash and usually unjustified ridicule that comes out on the internet.

What I'd like to see is Perhaps the first letter of the owners name, build date and mileage at the time of the incident along with what failed.

The Cadillac ATS was suffering similar failures early on and I believe the work of some forum members there got GM to honor warranties on even modified vehicles.

If any of you would like to have your name removed from this list, please PM me, and if you would not mind having your mods declared on here, let me know as well.

You should add to the list mods and when they were installed. A stock setup blowing is a big difference vs. a motor that is not tuned and had its boost upped.

Agreed. Mods (or none) should be listed to see if even a basic correlation exists. Otherwise, it's just a list of blown engines.

Would be a good Idea i agree, but I don't want to compromise peoples warranty claims with an easy to look up area.

Besides, Other than the one with the boost max, which is a piggyback, I don't think it's the fault of any of the reputable tuners on here.

Look at the Build dates so far and transmissions, I'm seeing a pattern developing.

Are you saying that you think my engine blew because of the BoostMax but the others that were tuned blew because the motor was bad and not a bad tune?

I think since all these engines are blowing up in the same way even in stock form the common denominator is the motor.

Not saying it was the boost max in your case. Just piggy backs in general lie to the ecu about what's going on in the motor so normally I wouldn't count that. That being said. Your build date and how it happened to you makes me believe yours was one of a bad batch and not anything you could have done about it.

Yours is the latest build date I have seen so far. If I pull my engine cover there is a sticker on the cam cover with a qr code showing my engine has a June 01 2015 build date (my car is June 05 2015)

Could you look for that sticker?

In depth

I have started a separate thread that goes more in depth as to build date, mods, transmission style, and a few other things. It won't compromise people's warranty claims as I'm not sharing Usernames with the data. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50195
