As i am writing this James is doing a tune 2 doors down on a Bullitt. James had been asking me to do it for months now. i just didnt want to take the warranty risk. i did see the 1st base stock run. it calculated to 516hp at the crank. 439RWHP. i will check in on the E85 tune as soon as i get a chance to wander back over to the Dyno.
i have already made the mistake of ruining my warranty on my cobra when it was new. so my lesson was learned. why pay for a repair when it should have been free!
if i want to screw with a car, i would rather it be not one under warranty.

When I called him to get my tune he asked me if I wanted to make the trip or meet him in tampa to do the E85 tune. He thinks he can get 500rwhp with just the tune.

I didn’t want to make the drive and from what I’ve read having E85 in a car that’s not your daily is a little risky. They could’ve been wrong though. I’m excited to see what he’ll get out of it. He’s passionate about the bullitt he swears other tuners don’t take full advantage of the GT350 manifold like they should. Instead they tune it like a regular GT

500 rwhp n/a is very tempting. Mine is a weekender as well, and I’d be interested to hear more about the effects of having e85 sitting in the system for extended periods. Are you thinking about having 3 tunes? (e85r, 93, flex)? I’d be interested to see what he can get on a straight 93 tune.

I have his 93 Tune loaded in my programmer now. I posted a thread a few days ago contemplating putting in the bullitt or not. He says on a mustang dyno the 93 tune puts the car at roughly 470 rwhp and 420 ftlbs of torque I think. Probably will load it up this week.

Final numbers
(STD)490WHP and 423wtq, up from 436/385 stock. 2400RPM had a 89wtq gain.
(SAE)477WHP and 412wtq. up from 419/374 stock Peaking 7200rpm

Thats 58WHP/38WTQ SAE gain, from just a tune, about 545HP crank. Close to a stock 2011-12 GT500.

For comparison Lunds 2018 e85+JLT intake test car made 464whp/429wtq SAE peaking @ 6800-6900
American Muscles/VPM e85+ PMAS CAI made 469/434(unknown SAE OR STD) peaking @6800-6900.

So looks like we pull a little more HP, give up a little TQ, and carry out powerband about 3-400RPM longer.

I feel like a nice cam would really wake our cars up to better make use of our intake.

Your also comparing manual to a10 transmissions in your comparison. A10 is going to lose a tad more power to the wheels. Why do you think it needs more cam? Lol.

I think you Bullitt guys will really benefit the most with the E85 tuning. The low end torque/timing gains is night and day to pump gas. That with 4.09’s look out. ;).

Nice numbers! Er, but who's are they? :D I saw some people posting for other people and referencing some other 3rd person ...

It's nice to see someone optimize for the GT350 IM/intake, I always felt like there was [peak] power being left on the table.

I still say Ford should build a PP3/Mach 1/<whatever>, use a 5.2 CPC based on the 3rd Gen (i.e, FI + DI), with the GT350 IM setup, that's an easy 500+HP NA (talking factory ... probably an E85 tune away from 600 NA )

A10 is going to lose a tad more power to the wheels.
Oh, but does it make up for it when the rubber-meets-the-road :D

All 3 that i compared are 6spd manuals. More cam will help take advantage of the higher RPM the intake was deigned for. it was built for a car that revs over 8K.

VPM/AM 6pd:
Lund 6spd:

You can adjust the VCT in the tune.

Buy a GT350 if you want 8200 plus rpms.
