Hello, so my car is currently headers intake and on e85 tuned by lund. Prior to getting tuned for e85, I checked the only local pump to me and it read e70, which the tuner said it should be okay. I load up the e85 tune, fill the car up and start logging. The tuner then says the car is running slightly lean, around 5-8%, which is weird because I would figure it would be on the richer side due to the ethonal percentage being lower than 85%.
Any ideas why it would be running slightly lean?

So it's adding 8% fuel? Did you test the fuel from the last fill up? Pump E85 changes.

That asked, I wouldn't trust Lund to tune a lawn mower.

The thought that other tuners don’t copy/paste is comical. But yes, Lund customer service is pretty trash if you’re not one of the lucky ones.

I just can't help but laugh at the projection when Lunds representative on youtube is always complaining about copy and paste tunas yet they will only tune specific setups so that they can copy and paste as well. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

There are other tuners out there who are willing to explore other avenues and offer excellent customer service as well.

The most cookie cutter tuners such as Lung should be able to send you a request to create a data log to correct your lean issue. But; they need to know at what percentage range your ethanol actually is. I've never run a Flex Tune but that might alleviate rich/lean issues.
I wouldn't think a ethanol content analyser with sensor would be necessary for NA cars but they do give you the exact ethanol content at any given moment.
Good Luck

That's a question for your tuner, and for your tuner to solve. That's why you pay him the money you did. When he told you it's running lean, he should have given you a solution.
You must have missed it's Lund.

I was running lean with my 2019 GT tuned by rob shoemaker but it was due to my fault using a cheap E85 from Meijer so I immediately switch to shell clear e-85 and haven’t had any issues since…

Tunes are rarely one and done. You get a file, datalog a bit, send back to tuner, they send you a new file. Rinse and repeat. Eventually its close enough.

Might take 1 rev, 4 revs, maybe 8 revs, it depends on how funky your setup is and how well you AND your tuner do your respective parts.

You said it ā€˜read E70’. Did you test it or are you just going on the numbers printed on the pump sticker?
