Hey I'm thinking about running e85 on my 2019 ecoboost, it doesn't have any aftermarket mods other than a BOV. Other than tuning the car to run e85 is there any other mods I need to get in order for it to be able to run e85 with no problems?

Yep, you'll need an aftermarket fuel system whether it be a port injection system or an upgraded direct injection system. The stock fuel system won't support more than e30, so just a tune won't do it.

Will (E30) give you an advantage over the fuel your using?
"I've been told it burns cooler and may help with engine temps?? But the octane is about the same as (93) gas?? Don't know if any of this is true... Just something I read in a forum!!"

Factory EBMs with only a BOV cannot run full E85. At best you'll be able to run E30-E40, after having bought a tuning device and tune, of course.

For full E85 you'll need a Cobb Accessport, a Pro Tune (we recommend PD Tuning), and either a Port Injection system or an upgraded HPFP from Nostrum or XDI, preferably coupled with the matching upgraded DI injectors.

We're happy to help you achieve your goals with your EcoBoost:

What performance benefits will Belark achieve switching to E30/40 over using 93octane (w/tune)??

Horsepower. Torque.

Simplest of answers, I know. But E85 burns cooler, allows us to run more boost and more timing, safely. Can pickup between 30-50rwhp depending on existing mods.

Remember that delta going from stock to a few bolt-on parts and an OTS tune? This is a similar delta when going from 93 to

Good information! Is it safe to assume that going from 93octane to E30 will produce about 1/3 the performance benefits of going all the way to E85 with reduced modifications to a mildly modified stock motor??

Probably more like 40-50% of full E85. Because anything north of about E70 we end up running the same fueling and timing typically. Unless on full balls race setup, then every point of ethanol counts and we may wring it out a little more then (so long as the fuel content allows for it).

The timing improvements from a E30 tune are big enough to notice.

not to threadjack but can some ethanol be blended in to a cobb OTS tune? Mainly for cooling properties and being able to maintain power for longer.

I've been running the Cobb OTS Stage 3, 93 octane tune with a shot of ethanol during the 2021 season. I add 2.5 gallons of flex fuel to 8 gallons of 93 octane pump gas. Results have been good! Lower temperatures and more power.

interesting i'll have to try adding some E. have you tested your pump e85 to verify its 85%?, calculating the mix shows about E28. Or even if its only 55% still nets E21

are you on stock plugs, or 1 step colder? if there a learning process, easing into heavy throttle? anything like fuel trims to watch on the AP?
