I can’t afford it. Now if I had someone sponsor me some of my expensive parts then maybe. Or if god would have made me rich instead of so good looking. But we play the hand we are dealt.
The state you live in might have something to do with it!

I'm running a 2018 GT Premium with 3.73s and 6 speed manual transmission on E85 for the past 3 weeks and I usually get 14-16 mpg in town (San Antonio, Texas) dealing with traffic and never ending construction, and 18-20 on the highway. On my 93 Performance tune I get 19 in town and 25-28 on the highway depending how fast (85+ mph).

Thank you for bringing this 4 year old post back to life to share this information. It is appreciated.

I get 12.9mpg on mine. I feel like I'm driving a 18 wheeler when I refuel. Lol

what extra maintenance? i am newer to the E85 scene, only been using it since mid july but that is all that I have run in it since then. i have the Livernois tuner and was told that it is a flex fuel tune which can adjust/compensate for the varying amount of ethanol that is found at the E85 pumps. i was planning on using 93 only pretty soon as the weather changes and ambient temps begin to drop.

and OP- i do a lot of highway driving. if i tried to get good mileage for a tank i would get 28-30 pretty easily on 87. i tried the same for shits and giggles on E85 and really couldnt get over 24. normal driving on 87 (mix of daily commute and a handful of pretty spirited bursts) i would get 22-24. normal driving on E85 put me down to around 15-18.

and note: that was 87vsE85. id imagine 93 would be slightly above 87 fuel mileage wise. lately i have been paying much attention to mileage, just driving the car to enjoy it. but i did want to see what it was capable of getting mileage wise just to know.
E85 attracts a lot of moisture.

Yes it does but, My thoughts., I had NO increase in moisture related to my oil Analysis I had done in April. I do however get a few ounces of clear water in my oil seperator which I was told why and agree with. I have not removed my injectors or spark plugs to verify any negative issues which would be related to my Using E85. I would how ever recommend using a high quality motor oil which breaks down slower with E85 use. But, I see nothing wrong with people running pump 93 during storage, piece of mind for them.

Yes, it is true that E85 attracts moisture more readily than regular fuel. All you need to do is ensure the vehicle warms up to 100C / 212F (the boiling point of water) to boil off any residual moisture in the oil, ensuring you don't sludge the engine. Your engine -- even on regular fuel -- will sludge if you don't let it warm up properly from time to time.

Also, I recommend you change your oil more frequently on E85. I agree with @DougS550, you'll probably also want an improved oil.

I've seen various forum posts that your fuel pump may fail faster, but I don't happen to know if this is from sitting in E85 or if it's just because E85 requires 30-40% more volume (so your fuel pump works 30-40% harder and fails 30-40% faster).
