Ok so I'm moving to an area that doesn't have 93 octane but I want to tune for 93. 100 octane is accessible, so I was thinking I could put in 12 gallons of 91 and 4 of 100 to achieve 93. Or I was thinking of just switching to E85. But I always read about the gas milage of E85 being horrible and with this being my DD that might not be a good financial decision. So I wanted to ask what type of mileage are you E85 guys getting?

e85 will give you about 30% less mpg, but its also about 30% cheaper. Its a much cheaper and better option that 93 octane if you can live with having to refill ur tank more often.

As ERO 5.0 said 30%. Everyone drives different, that being said on the hwy I went from 29-30 mpg to 20+ mpg, when I pull my trailer I drop another 4 mpg. And it's better than 93 and costs way less than race gas. It's the one thing our Politicians screwed up in our favor.....they made race gas cheap, readily available and it street legal, as there's road tax included, unlike race gas. And like Mustang Guy said mpg....what's that lol. Later, next year for long trips like 1K+ miles I will get a gas tune, just to make it easy to find a station when traveling.
Oh and if my memory serves me correct, when mixing octanes, it's not an equal ratio, the lower octane brings down the higher octane more, and the higher octane doesn't bring up the lower octane as much.

Here's my example of running E85, from last night in a 3,860 lb S550.

Thanks for the input, I'm definitely leaning more towards this now. More likely when I get there after the 1700 mile drive so I won't have to refuel a hundred times. As long as I'm not losing money on it I'm cool with filling up more frequently. I should have worded my original post to state I'm mostly concerned about mpg to price ratio than actual mpg lol. I was trying to see roughly what (lower) mpg numbers people were getting and factor that into the cheaper price to see if it's worth it. What you mentioned about the octane mixing makes sense, I used an octane mixing calculator.

I get about 12 mpg. My commute is 8 miles door to door. On the freeway it's much better, but I haven't really made any trips with it due to stations being few and far between.

At around 13:1 CR the MPG levels out and ethanol shines.
