May go to e85 in the future. I understand testing is essential, however, what do you do in the event that the e85 tests poorly? Is there an additive you can put in that boosts it to e85? Or just go to a different station

I think most of E85 tunes will run fine if the ethanol content isn't terribly low (others here probably can tell you more) - otherwise you just go to a different station.

Run the Flex tune and you’ll be good. I stay on Flex most of the time.

Flex tune will adjust so lower content not a big deal. A straight e85 tune has an assumed content so it is a big deal. That said I believe there is a min assumed value that will work around e70 but someone correct me if that value is incorrect.

Most tuners target STFT’s for a ethanol content around an 80-82% concentration. Trims should have enough range to run an easy 10-15% in either direction. Always log when changing content % more than 6-8% to check. Know your setup and how it adapts. I prefer an E70-75 blend when I can.

You directly ask your tuners the min/max E content for their tunes. Most E tunes I have dealt with have E70 as a min, and E90 as a max.

At one point I had E98 locally, which is why I get the mins and maxes. Additionally, installing an ethanol content analyzer, takes all the testing out of it, and gives you pretty accurate numbers. A bluetooth model is preferred over the trouble of installing a gauge. No sense in all that extra work for something you just check after fill up. I ran an innovate gauge setup, and wish I had just gone bluetooth.
