You feel the difference immediately when you change the drive mode of the car. In the 'rain and snow'-mode, the car reacts much slower when you push the gas pedal, and in Sport+-mode the car is very quick off its feet/tires and reacts very lively.
My question is: does the drive mode also affect fuel consumption? Does it burn more gas in Sport+-mode, and less in 'rain and snow'-mode?

If you have an auto the answer would be yes due to the car holding onto gears longer,
but if your always paddle shifting or have a manual, no.
There could be a negligible amount used due to the sensitivity of the pedal in Sport vs Rain mode, but nothing you would be able to notice.

I'm asking because the difference is very noticeable. In 'rain and snow'-mode, the car really feels extremely sluggish, even when you put the pedal to the metal, while in Sport+-mode the car almost tends to escape from under your butt!
Anyway, no need to fear much higher consumption figures when you drive in Sport+ all the time, that's good news!

I am sure gas mileage is different, but I never pay attention to it at all. I don't think I ever pay attention to gas mileage for any of my car. for my mustang, I believed more gas and more air equal more faster, so I will be happy if my mustang drink more gas.

You're feeling the driver demand throttle mapping in the tune between the modes. In Sport the throttle is 100% open at 85% throttle. Snow is the opposite. Normal is linear.

I've updated mine in the tune so Sport has the same linear mapping as Normal.

Updated yours in an aftermarket tune or are you referring to tapping into the As Built Ford Drive Modes using Forscan and modifying it?

I picked up an MPVI2 to enable the active exhaust on my car and made a tweak to the pedal tables while I was in there.

I'll post up a screenshot of the tables when I'm at the computer again if anyone else is curious about the stock pedal to throttle configuration for the drive modes.

I put mine in rain and snow one day just out of curiosity, felt like I was dragging an anchor. I can’t imagine ever using it.

I have had "rain/snow" mode settings on a number of cars and never understood the rational for them. I far prefer very linear throttle mapping and sharp response when driving in lousy conditions. It's a lot safer.

On a long road trip, all highway, 6th gear with the cruise control set 10 mph over the speed limit, and in normal mode, I got 22 to 24 mpg out of the voodoo. But the way I usually drive, I average around 10 mpg. Don’t care, I bought it to be a toy, not a daily driver.
If you buy any car with a V8, and are concerned about gas mileage, you’re doing it wrong.

Yes, please. I am. :like:
I don't like non-linear responses, be they more or less aggressive. When I want the throttle to open to 60% or to 100% I will press the pedal to 60% or to 100%. I see no point in the throttle opening more than my input just to give me a subjective feeling that the car is "faster".
Sadly, the only way to get the Sport suspension mode (which I love at high speeds) is to use the Sport+ drive mode. And during the first couple of miles after switching to Sport+ the car feels a bit twitchy because it accelerates a bit more than I want it to. After one or two miles the effect subsides though, because my foot unconsciously adapts to the new throttle response.
