I want to go with the drilled and slotted rotor look on my upcoming brake job.
Just for the look, I know this won't increase my braking performance.
Who would you recommend as a source for the four rotors and pads?

IMHO, if you want a REALLY good brake porn look, a 2 piece slotted would be the way to go. The Steeda 2 piece is gorgeous. Girodisc makes a damn good rotor too.

Plenty of options on American Muscle's website, but a good 2 piece is sexy.

Get some good drill bits and DIY...way cheaper. You can even wrap the hub with some CF vinyl and really it pop.:crackup:

Sorry, couldn't help myself. If just for looks, I wouldn't mess with anything as pricy as Steeda or Girodisc. Plenty of less expensive street only options out there.

Well, since you know that it’s only for look, get the cheapest ones you can get on RockAuto
…and btw,my 17pp1 on squared 305 is a track car only and i use the cheapest blanks that can get from rockauto
Never had a problem in 8 years

You aren't the only one. Lot of guys have really good luck going that route.

I put drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads on my 2007 Lincoln MKZ and my 2011 3.7 Mustang and they are great brakes. The cost was $450.00 for the set.

Absolutely love them. And they do make a huge difference. “Slotted and drilled”, not to mention the ceramic pads. Get them, No Brainer.

Stay away from any ceramic pads if you ever do “spirited” driving and need to slow down hard from speeds over 100-120mph. You will be absolutely shocked at the lack of initial bite and sustained braking G. Horrible. If you just want clean wheels though, they work for that.

I have never had any problems with the brakes even at high speeds. I love the ceramics. You have to do a proper break in with them and they work great.

You had something wrong with your setup. All the supercars, Porsches, GTRs and the like that have ceramic brakes from the factory don't suffer from severely reduced braking performance compared to the alternative.

Holden is 100% right, ceramic pads are very low performance pads and will fade in any spirited or hard usage
Reason being their design temperature range that is between 200 to 700*
above that their coefficient of friction drop drastically
As a comparison, race pads are designed to work around 1500* or more
As for the comment about high performance cars with ceramic braking systems, they are not ceramic but rather carbon-ceramic and obviously the rotors are made of a non-ferrous material
Big difference

Um. You’ve confused ceramic pads with carbon ceramic rotors. Not even on the same planet. Please separate the two. Ceramic pads are garbage for high speed and track work. No questions. Ask the track guys if they run ceramic pads for clean wheels. I’ll wait.
