If I'm not mistaken, 2018 MY is the mid-cycle refresh year.

As for the v8, it's looking more and more like a dinosaur in the tar pit.

They could easily put in an ecoboost. They did it with the GT.

This wouldn't surprise me. Audi, for example, has used the exact engine in their R8 and RS4.

One thing though, Ford JUST spent a lot of money on engineering this relatively new V8. They don't like to go too short-term on their engine programs, ROE-wise. You could argue that some of the GT500 5.4s were frequently changed but they always carried over some parts and the engineering was definitely shared.

You can best bet the 5.2 will arrive in a Ford product (F150 and Mustang for MY17/18) as a CPC configuration. This set up, with the 350 intake will be a screamer as we already see the Coyote with the 350 intake is a powerhouse to 7500rpm redline.

There's no telling what will happen to the Mustang V8 at the next design cycle where Ford will be forced to reduce weight and extend MPG. Will a new 4.0 - 4.2L v8 arrive, or will a v6 take over altogether???

Ford could also use the mid cycle refresh to kill the last of the v8s. It's a gamble IMO

I suspect we'll finally see DI before it dies in Ford passenger cars.

Actually, it's selling like crazy. GM just added a third shift at the Camaro plant, so it's running 24 hours a day to keep up with demand.

Just what they need, tired plant workers slapping together vehicles.

Just picked up my GT350 last night from a dealer near Tulsa, OK. When my salesman picked me up at the airport, he said a dealer in Texas has offered them $20,000 over MSRP for my car, plus offered to take their five least desirable vehicles off their hands as well. Thankfully m dealer refused that deal and honored my sale at a $2500 markup. Not sure if these dealers are just setting themselves up for big losses down the road, or if people are actually paying those kinds of markups. My car is a 2016 with a track pack, so not really anything special. Other than being a GT350.

Coming from the Ford fan boy..

Not a fan boy of any car manufacturer. I've owned a 15 GT so it's my opinion. I've always thought American cars had junk interior. It's not until recently that they are improving.

That's happening all over the country, with ridiculous offers from both dealers and auto brokers. My dealer had 4 offers from Florida dealers for my car. They all went away when they found out the car arrived needing more than $3,100 in repairs.

Awesome on your car! can't blame the dealers. perhaps there are more than the 3400 or 5500 (combine) folks out there that want this car. including me. :headbonk: so many of us will just have to pay higher than msrp.

another way of looking at it is that perhaps we all think Ford priced this car low? hence the demand.
