Coming from a 1.4T Chevy Sonic and without a tune, the ECU would pull back, through torque management, any gains made by things like an intake and exhaust. I'm just wondering if the EB does the same. I probably will tune the EB eventually but it would be nice to pick up a little power in the meantime with some bolt ons.

Tune is by far the best performance per dollar mod so why do other things first?

Depending on the software and tuner I can say absolutely !

Until all the tables can be accessed and the learning curve expands over time this will be a common problem. I personally switched my car to Livernois and it runs so much smoother and stronger with repeatable gains. Many other tunes I have tried would do exactly what you are describing and every time you hit the pedal it was a different result.

With the LMS tune you can be sure that it's gonna run the best and fastest every time.

What other tunes/tuners have you used?

That's why we engineered the high performance 160° thermostat!
For us the fueling brickwall is far more :frusty: for us. We are working diligently and quietly to fix that!

Overkill. An FMIC is actually not needed. We have not reached the point of thermal inefficiency yet with our tuning.

Yes do explain since you are the only tuner saying this. It's been established that with an upgraded IC you will make more power.

I live in FL.

With current 55-60F temps, sitting at a stop light with stock IC I've seen 110F IATs. Not with a pull, or spirited driving.

I can't imagine what this will be like in the summer, after some pulls with a stock unit and tune.

I would love more details.

PS: I'm all stock, no tune.

In 15° weather, I've seen charge air temps at 75°-90° after a 3rd gear pull, and that's just a single pull.

Didn't you say a couple months ago that you were going to give some data on how effective the thermostat is? I got that the engine will run a little cooler, but that seems like a bandaid for the sky high charge air temps. Why not just address the actual issue with a more efficient IC?

Curious on what tuner you've found does this.
